For the sake of completing the picture, please note the true origin of aerated chocolate, invented nearly a century ago by Rowntree's of York, who were a very important client of mine, before being acquired in the late 1980s, and ruined in many peoples' opinion, by Nestle.. Within the Wiki article, interesting to note that the product also inspired a particular formulation of rocket fuel!

Perhaps you also know that York, although established by Romans, was later conquered by Vikings and named Jórvík and became second in size only to London and an important hub for Viking trade and logistics. A museum was established to mark this fact a few decades ago, in the centre of York.

Cbaron - I think a limiting factor to the practice to which you refer is (as oft quoted by my old boss at Berisford in the 80s) 'You can be the biggest IN the market, but not bigger THAN the market' Just how much collaboration exists between 'competing' MMs is another consideration.

Taverham - I know the feeling! My view (FWIW) is that after effectively a year of political uncertainty in the U.S., the Trump administration will be determined to stimulate the economy. Furthermore, so much American infrastructure is in urgent need of repair or replacement, there ought to be an opportunity to 'kill two birds with one stone'. The U.S. listing should, of course, lubricate the process.

Guinness supplies being limited after demand soars.

The amount of Guinness pubs can buy in the build up to Christmas has been limited by its maker Diageo after "exceptional demand" over the past three weeks.

It is understood the firm is working at 100% production capacity, but has still placed limits on orders in Great Britain.
