Further to my post below, I now see that others have been advised to expect a reduction from their respective brokers. Is 20% the 'official' situation now?

So, getting back to the subscription offer, the allocation assigned to my holding with II has arbitrarily been reduced by 20%, with no explanation. ( I had already opted for the full 5:1 amount when the offer first appeared in Corporate Actions). Is this consistent with everyone else, or is my lack of faith in II customer service justified?....

Doyouevenlift: The data are pretty conclusive. Overwhelmingly, short-term traders lose money, and drop-out with a sore bum. However, that doesn't deter another generation of wannabe, gonnabe chancers. LTH end up with a good chunk of their foolish, impulsive money...

It's certainly a good update, but today will be an uphill struggle against general market sentiment. MRO seem regularly unlucky with their update timings..

The_shareminator - Yes, that would certainly be an option, but my middle daughter was with Hargreaves and found that the dealing fee represented a significant percentage of her costs, because she tended to invest quite small amounts. Consequently, when I tried to 'encourage' my youngest to also invest in her own future, I figured it would again be small amounts (three young children, big mortgage), so I suggested T212 due to free trading and quite good interest on any cash balances. Personally, my main account is with II (I was migrated from The Share Centre) and although they've improved since the early days, I'm still not overly impressed with their customer service.

The message from II definitely states: "Following receipt of the new shares we will endeavour to move your new holding to the NYSE as soon as practical, and update accounts accordingly".

Has some clown at II become confused??

Anyone on Trading 212? My daughter says she can't buy from that platform. My holding is via Interactive Investor. My concern is that there will be grief over taking -up the subs....

At least Sundezena stays on the subject of the forum. You need to reflect before wasting more space with your childish rants. So far you have raised zero commentary on IAG.

Calm down - the most likely outcome is favourable, with a significant uplift. Break-even is not really likely. Upon news you'll either be significantly wealthier or poorer. I'm very confident you'll be happy and not require to top-slice.

Wishing you a great outcome from the surgery. I've undergone a lot of orthopaedic surgery over my adult life (most due to motorbike incidents) and my advice is to not let the medics under-prescribe the analgesics. If you're not properly comfortable, insist the medication is adjusted.

Don't worry about trivial matters, concentrate on your recovery!

As Speedy says CGT free is a must for UK peeps and Chards will let you filter to only display such coins, such as Queen's Beasts etc., for which I think they get a special deal with Royal Mint. Sometimes they sell fractionals at very low premiums. Also I find bullioncompare.co.uk is useful for comparing availability and pricing at a number of respected dealers.

Long-time watcher of Relx and decided to open a position on the dip at around 3350 earlier in the month and continued to drip feed in down to around 3250.

My surprise is that no-one is talking about it since abt 3500. Is there a reason no-one else is sufficiently confident to top-up?
