aerial - agree - the net assets in the accounts alone point to a MCap of c£7m, but the market sentiment and trust of our BoD is at an all time low. I stick with my thoughts on this - until we get something more concrete in terms of operating margins the market is simply not going to believe our BoD can turn this into a long term going concern. Foxy - are you expecting a turn upwards then?

john - ah, yes that - well, he also said we'd be a profit making coal miner well before now and quite a few other things....it's the next piece of the jigsaw IMHO - the market has seen plenty of small producers fail in the past because they couldn't get to the magic threshold in terms of economies of scale. We're going in the right direction, but I think we all still need convincing that we can operate as a going concern. There's no doubt in my mind that it is the question over margins which is holding us back at the moment. That said, two RNS in two days is pretty good going for us. GLA

john - how do you get monthly profits of that value? Is that gross or net? The margin on our revenue is the key in all of this so very interested in your calculations, even if back of a cigarette paper methodology. GLA

Bright- more chance of the Queen buying in here than our Directors actually putting their hand into their deep pockets. That said hopefully we're moving in the right direction. GLA

Numptytrader - it's the margin on that revenue that is important. We could be generating £1m a month in revenue but if our net margin is negative, we're not a commercially viable co. Rufus needs to talk more about profits on our monthly coal sales. GLS

TLW - yes, read about that in the FT. There's the cherry on the cake - "with Spire now trading below its freehold property value". GLA

goodshare - the post of the day - finally someone highlights exactly what the market is thinking. We need a gross profit of c£13k per month just to pay Rufus' wages. It is great that we are winning contracts and selling coal, but if we're not covering our costs or making next to nothing on the process, what's the long term game? The market wants to know if we are a commercially viable business and will grow into something much bigger on the back of huge coal reserves in the ground - I'm not really sure anything has clearly communicated that as yet. Come on Rufus. GLA

And as will Rufus' salary! Positive RNS this morning. We just need lots of them. GLA

lg - I'm not here to tell you what to do but emailing the FCA will take no time at all. But, like I say, NEW was nailed on and very little was done. Yes, Cornhill were fined, but PIs got nothing in recompense. The Cornhill case almost set a precedent in that the authorities simply aren't interested. It's why I simply don't expose much of my portfolio to AIM shares anymore. GLA

lg - it's pointless IMHO - look up London Stock Exchange market notice N01/17 about Cornhill and the New World Oil and Gas affair. This was blatant manipulation after they'd ben squarely caught with their fingers in the till, so to speak. A proper naked short had arisen due to their forward selling and PIs should have cleaned up, big time. A clear case of a dealer stuck in a room with no doors, yet somehow they managed to find a way out. It was pretty clean cut what went on - here at EDL there is no obvious evidence of manipulation - although I agree it looks very funny indeed and has for many, many months in terms of trades and the share price and how they simply do not correlate. LSE, and the FCA for that matter, simply aren't interested in AIM stocks and things that PIs might allege is going on.

john - the bigger question is "maintain a fair and orderly market for stock" for who exactly? (a) PIs, (b) IIs or simply for (c) MMs?? No real point me setting up a survey monkey for that question.

larryg - replace the very last word of your post with "manipulation" and I think you will be nearer the mark. GLA

Octopus - the problem we have at the moment is we cant seem to mine enough coal quick enough to make margin. Our last reported gross margin was pitiful (it's hopefully increased) and with our good friend Rufus pulling out £160k in salary, you do have to wonder if we are going to fail at the last hurdle. The key sign for me is the share price - it is continually depressed at these levels, despite our net assets in the P&L which point to a share price of at least twice where we are at - why? The market never lies and I think the market sentiment at the moment is this isn't going to turn out well as an ongoing commercial enterprise. I'm heavily invested here, notably at much lower levels than some other long term holders so I have a vested interest. But it just doesn't add up. GLA

The bit in the annual statement that concerns me is the section under Going Concern. We also have a bit of a track record of raising funds in the autumn. The EGM requirement is a bit of a red herring as far as an AIM company goes - I've been in a few before where it's been a case of we must raise funds, or we're stuffed. I cant recall but I thought we had about £0.5m in the Interims, but it is a case of how much we're burning. GLA

LeMans - I do have a very small fear in the back of my head that there could be a placing coming here.

Poker - there are one or two overly negative posters that have appeared recently and the share price is quite clearly being manipulated - I suspect the sharp drop on open was there to trigger stop losses; make what you will of all that put together. GLA

It's been like it for weeks, months even - they may well be balancing trades - balancing for what is where you can draw your own conclusions but consider that along with where the share price is.

It was a tongue in cheek comment - everything is tomorrow in EDL world. GLA
