RE: Opinions allowed but long term mark26 Oct 2018 14:51
Sage - if people think the NHS will exist in 5 yrs time in the same form as it does now, they are wholly naïve. The reality is private healthcare is only going one way, dictated by rising NHS costs and the short term unavailability of tests, scans, operations etc due to woeful undersupply of these services. You simply cant keep giving stuff away for nothing and there is no doubt that higher earners will be forced to take out private medical care at some point in the future. Somebody mentioned the other day as to whether MDC was on the same track as Mike Ashley in lending out its shares for shorting purposes. Who knows, but this has taken one heck of a hit in the last twelve months and you can guarantee that whatever was announced to the market post ending of the MDC takeover in terms of Spires financial health, MDC would have been all over this during due diligence, so it was known about. I suspect that one BoD is teaching another BoD a lesson in market economics....with an obvious end game of a cheaper takeover. GLA
