Rastuss - 14 Dec 2017 RNS - it's exactly why I asked for someone with some real knowledge of takeovers to comment regarding whether this is as straightforward as an all share issue or the valuation. Technically it's open for debate as we haven't as yet had the formal offer to shareholders, unless I've missed mine. The all share offer is based on the valuation, which is now different.

Rastuss - the £285m was mentioned in the RNS I believe. I think a scheme of arrangement under Part 26 of the Companies Act needs 75% approval of our shareholders.

It's a difficult one - our original "offer" if I recall last December was around valuing Lonmin at £285m and an all share offer to reach that valuation. The question now is whether share holders of Lonmin will accept the 0.967 shares (valuing us at roughly half of that) or Sibanye shareholders will accept an offer that matches the original one and still values us at £285m given our current MCap of c£130m - which would mean somewhere around 1.9 shares for each of ours. I'm no expert in takeovers so don't really have a sound opinion on which would be correct. Other views are most welcome. GLA

larry - your posts are truly correct and valiant, but this is AIM. Nobody, FCA, LSE etc etc is interested in these small shares. I'm in a number of FTSE250 shares that are quite clearly being manipulated, one has dropped to nearly a third of its value, yet the fundamental business is more or less the same. I learnt the hard way as an investor as I put lots of money into AIM and I've lost plenty of it over the years. I have one AIM share, perhaps two occasionally, at a time now in my portfolio and the thick end of my hard earned money is in main market shares where I can then at least pull out dividends too. AIM simply isn't worth the hassle anymore as these sorts of things are going on everywhere and the returns you get on these shares is dwindling ever lower. I am getting to the point with EDL where I am considering cutting my losses which, at this price, like many others is not insignificant. I have absolutely no faith now in Rufus and the BoD so I do ask myself - why have I invested my hard earned money in these people? GLA

sausage - indeed, why would people invest at the moment. We're all here because we're locked in, but if someone offered you near your average for all your shares tomorrow, I guess you, like I, would sell up. I worry about two things now with EDL - whether we're profit making, which I have had in my head for a while but also whether we can actually scale up our mining operations to the required tonnage. It's very, very frustrating to be an EDL holder at the moment. GLA

Scully - please take a look at yourself - I've told you where my sentiments lie and I'm being open and honest about them. If this dropped to 5p tomorrow I still wouldn't buy in at the moment given my other concerns. Why ARE IIs continuing to dump big quantities of shares? But you, I believe you probably bought in quite recently, perhaps at a fair bit higher than the current price - 12p ish??. I recall one of your posts from Thursday - "Rule number 1 of making profit - find undervalued stocks and buy shares in them" - oh, and ramp them in the interim. Please, you are so obvious. And as for Carillion, I'd prefer if you weren't so dismissive of what went on there. I very nearly lost a very dear friend - that is exactly how "catastrophic" things can be when big companies fail. Jimmsdee - agree, as was Carillion's. It's the catastrophic knock on effects of such large companies going to the wall but there are plenty of vultures in the wings willing to sit and watch these companies go to the wall and pick up the resultant opportunities. I have a very good friend who I have known for many years who was on the brink of suicide after Carillion collapsed, as he was a sub-contractor owed a lot of money. His business has survived, but he's not mortgage free anymore on his house. GLA

MaltLoaf - I don't disagree but if you put the way the market is tilting (negatively) together with some of the fundamental issues we have as a going concern at the moment heading into winter, I don't see huge positives. I'll say it again - we're on a knife edge - there could be a bid this week or we could end up simply burning cash for the next few months and struggling. You don't put the for sale signs up as a business unless you need a buyer. Someone else has quite explicitly described this share - "it's boom or bust". Nobody on here knows which and we all make our own investment decisions based upon our own methods. What hacks me off is the constant talk of bids, huge opportunities etc etc. It's simply not that black and white. GLA.
