ge0rge - I was on a free ride with Flybe - I sold down in mid Dec and closed out pure profit last week, albeit less than I hoped. Disgrace there. Looks like it has done it's worst here today. GLA

ge0rge - I think the top up opportunity is today. Looking at our trading range over the past few months in particular, we were on a hiding to nothing today unless a rabbit was pulled out of the hat. Without tempting fate there is huge support at c£1, so I don't expect much further fall. We just need a bidder now. GLA

ge0rge123 - how can it be anything like averaging down on Flybe - that's been a gamble ever since they put the for sale sign up and once the middle of December had passed (which was a month for due diligence) most PIs should have sniffed a rat. What do you know of the fundamentals on Spire or are you just hedging your bets on a short?? The Brexit deal swould have limited impact on the business model but it does have a hand in when somebody decides to bid for Spire. GLA genuine holders.

TLW - market sentiment and shorting has destroyed confidence in the share so you could almost guarantee that we were going to get a pasting this morning unless the figures were much better than had been already forecast, which they weren't. The figures don't justify the drop, but we're not on a level playing field at the moment. This is absolutely prime for a T/O bid now IMHO, particularly at these prices. It's a reasonably solid business and I don't think it can be long before somebody takes the plunge, MDC or otherwise. Undoubtedly we need to get that Brexit thing out of the way first. I'm guessing that a few stop losses have been triggered this morning. GLA

TOW- I'll second that. We have our annual post close trading update due, which will be interesting and undoubtedly our future share price will reflect what's in it. GLA

But even after all the years, I do get still get stunned by some of the overtly stupid things that get posted on these open public forums. Look - those holding shares, including me, have been royally shafted. There is next to bugger all we can do about . However, I will be doing my own bit and contacting the usual powers that be. I suggest everyone who feels aggrieved does exactly the same and we can see where we get to. GLA

Skyhigh58 - and in amongst your post is the immortal word in all of this - "clarity" - how dire a financial position is Flybe actually in? We've speculated as PIs for months, discussed our thoughts on NAV, debt etc, but the real problems haven't been open in the public domain, until now. That is the real issue here - we have a LSE main listed company that has clearly kept a fair few things under the carpet. That's where disgruntled investors should be looking to the likes of the FCA.

Gelston- it's irrelevant. If it's not passed by shareholders then you can guarantee that the BoD takes us into admin and we get nothing. I've been lucky here and been on a free ride for a while now, but I'm afraid it's all but a done deal. I'm just sad for those who may have lost lots of money. GLA

Risk - wow, you've changed your tune over the course of this morning? What's happened? The reality is simple - all PIs have been royally kicked in the proverbials and there is nothing we can do about it. If we oppose the takeover then it goes to admin. For those who are truly in deep here, I hope there is a counter offer, but given the current recommendation to accept 1p, you simply cannot see there being many others such as IAG running to buy this and certainly not at a significant uplift to 1p. The BoD has quite clearly not been truly open with the depth of the crisis the company is in.

He's well- I've got a mate in Nigeria who has a load of cash in a bank account that he needs someone to help him with if you're intrrested....joking aside, this is awful news for PIs still holding. And this is a main market share.
