I think it was good planning, it seems sensible to have your distribution network set up commercially and logistically , whilst the company is awaiting approvals , this enables them to get the Avacta product in the market place and obtainable at the soonest opportunity.

From that im taking this is more useful than a vaccine , as this solution can deal with people before they get the virus and cure them when they have virus!!! WOW
A vaccine only helps those who haven't got the virus, so if this works out the need for a vaccine may be obsolete. Its a big claim publicly announced!!!!

That is exactly what most industries will need to keep workforces safe , social distancing cannot be achieved with all lines of work.
Also where I work at sea on ships the cost of vessels coming off contract to get any sick ashore , and the risk of serious outbreak onboard is huge, also depending on weather and location getting medivacs can be less thans traightforward.
this will apply to oil and gas offshore construction industry AND the offshore renewables industry where most large workforces are ship based.

Given the government have said they have reached their goal of 100k tests per day, it's fair to say they been testing at near that rate for some days. Does anyone know or have heard what companies test they are using? 700k tests per week is a decent contract for any firm and I haven't seen any rns in any of the test companies stating that business??

They also have a POC test in development, but that also will need an "instrument " when performing the test ,its in the latter part of the rns .poc test may be some time before market ready

Your so right testing for virus ,then also testing for antibodies is going to be huge for a very long time. I think treatments may come sooner than vaccines, but testing will still be part of the identification process and again to prove patients are safe to exit treatments .
I joined a ship today for work and we were all covid tested! Weirdly it was an antibody test I think ,drop of blood onto a test slide then it tested for igg and igm ,not sure what each signify
