I can't understand the reason for the funding to develop a test that is already available in the UK ??
I would understand if the funding was going into the vaccine development?

On the mologic web site it states they have been awarded £1m today, from the UK gov see paste from news page----
Bedfordshire, UK, 6th March 2020: Mologic Ltd, a leading developer of lateral flow and rapid diagnostic technologies, today announced that it has been awarded circa £1 million by the Wellcome Trust and the Department for International Development (DFID), as part of the UK government’s £46 million international coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention and research funding package. The funding will be used by Mologic and global partners, to develop a point-of-need diagnostic test for the virus, in addition to supporting the Company to initiate research for novel vaccine candidates.

Mologic will build on their experience developing a rapid test kit for Ebola, which was also jointly funded by UK aid and the Wellcome Trust, to create a new hand-held diagnostics device to detect COVID-19. This will allow health officials to test for the virus at home or in the community, providing results in 10 minutes, without the need for electricity or a laboratory. Rapid identification of the virus enables quicker quarantine and access to care, to support global efforts in preventing further spread – especially in vulnerable countries that have limited specialist facilities. Alongside their work on diagnostics, UK aid is also supporting Mologic in the development of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate for further evaluation.

I posted about qiagens kit yesterday and the thermo fisher takeover, but no response as I think it didnt fit with ramping clutter. There are big ones out there already in the market so we have to be realistic here.

Like you say volume they may struggle with , but looks like they have CE approval and a registered IVD device ( not sure what that is)

Just seen a German or Dutch firm who markets coronavirus detection kits has been taken over by thermo fisher. Anyone got any info on who they are selling to and if approvals are in place etc

Seen on news this morning several towns and villages In Italy have shut down due to coronavirus fears,large scale disruption getting closer very quickly

Wow weve been getting regular updates from our firms hse dept, any one travelling back from certain countries to notify them etc.
The word from our Asian dept is Singapore and Vietnam working shifts in the cities now to attempt to segregate the population effectively reducing contact risks ,its very serious outside our wee bubble in Europe

Blue , I've kind of lost touch with the FRR situation as I've not read the board regularly , but glad to hear your points saying things are more positive looking with them now, TBH id written that off as a battle scar ( albeit big one in my world!!)
likewise if it turns good it'll be a great bonus likely to go into this ,ggp or possibly phe.

This is the second of my shares to go into suspension, FRR is the other but suspended and delisted due to conflicts etc ,doubt I'll see anything more from them.
This one I'm hoping will just be a short suspension so they can discuss,finalise any deals without any further exposure to info leaks or such like. Due to the positive direction the company was headed I think and hope the outcome will be a good one for all of us invested
