HVDC is used on main export cables from country to country and also to land from offshore wind farms. expensive due to the requirement for two cables .

Aluminium is used in many large cross section cables we use in the renewable industry , we see them about20% of the cables we handle in trenching operations on wind farms. Im guessing when copper price rises or availability gets tight then the aluminium becomes next choice. therefore if copper price shoots up I'm guessing aluminium will start to climb also.

Could be Siemens but I do wonder if one of the big cable manufacturers may be trying to get exclusivity to thier product like NKT or Prysmian

Can’t understand this firm , we see their cable protection being used subsea in loads of windfarms,and with huge upsurge in US take up of wind the amount of business available is huge, also loads of work in Asia too

Volvo diesel engines used to be 8-10 weeks , this last year they've been 50-54 weeks lead time. but in the last couple of months this has come down to 12 weeks , so things are improving in some areas. Sweden seems better than germany though !
Deutz engines are still about a year lead time

The cable to most inter array turbines off shore is around 1 to 1.4 Km long so in big arrays the copper required is huge , note some planners have been using aluminium conductors
