That must be infuriating Steven. It also gives the genuine long term sick and disabled a bad nane. More than once I've overheard idiots in pubs ranting about how virtually all disabled/sick people could work if they wanted.
I suppose I was lucky that I loved my job and with my health, as I had a total of less than 20 days sick leave in 50 years. Also lucky to live here in the South East as we never seem to wait more than a few weeks for tests scans etc. When I had my hip replaced, from first talking to the GP to having the op, it was less than 4 months . Yet, you hear stories of people waiting for years in terrible pain. Highly efficient, in hospital for 2 days. When my sister had her knees done 10 years ago, it was 10 days and 7 days, so efficiency is improving.
