Nope didn't work. Di nada
Surely being available on more trading platforms will help increase awareness?
Just set an account up to save on fees from HL. Can't find ORR on there. Am I being stupid?
Thanks Kat, interesting.
I've just been reading about this so would very much welcome someone who is more educated to help me understand it. I might need fact checking also in case I've misinterpreted...
It seems there's a story here. In 1971, when the USA removed gold backing up the dollar, the EU didn't like it so they started building their gold reserves relative to their GDP, in case things went bad. In more recent years China and Russia started building up their reserves and there was talk of them considering their own reserve currency.
Anyway, the US have been a bit flagrant with their reserve status and have weaponised the dollar, massively printed and exported their inflation which is creating a lot of debt. If/when the debt gets out of hand a revaluation of gold could help eradicate a lot of that debt (assuming a balance of reserves within a region, like EU, Russia/China). If that were to happen the feeling is that gold is worth somewhere between $10,000 and $50,000 an ounce. Something like this could only happen if there was a global crash with countries struggling with debt. This would also create a scramble for gold thereby increasing the price further. 2023 is starting to look like it could be creating the conditions required for such an event and even the Dutch CB has already called for a revaluation. Gordon Brown kindly sold all our gold so our reserves are woeful.
What do people think?
Thanks for that Kutzz and MTM. Glad you both reached out to the BOD and appear to feel a little better about things. The lines of communication should stay open and I really hope others who have a lot of personal opinions validate them with a conversation with the board. There's also a number of on the ground Cameroonian employees who the BOD are responsible for so they'll be doing all they can to ensure success for everyone.
What would that do to us shareholders if that happened?
Kutzz, dude, say it ain't so! Don't leave us here on the bottom of the ocean. I'm waiting for this big wave to wash me up on your private island for a party
I can understand some wanting to highlight to newbies, via some moral quest, that the company has challenges around funding. Even though this is a speculative business, like you'd find with modern tech i.e no profit and lots of debt on the hope it will be big.
But genuinely, being openly negative on BB is literally kicking every shareholder in the balls, regardless.
An analogy. Imagine you walk into a park and there's Oriole Resources trying to drum up investment. They have a big banner and lots of details about their current and planned activities. Prospect buyers wander over to take a look. Then, right at the front, someone stands on a box and shouts "stay away, they have no money, don't listen to anyone, save yourselves". The prospective buyers stop, turn around and walk away. Worse still this unnerves the existing shareholders who are standing right in front of this shouter on their box and start to get a bit worried. They decide to sell and stand on the sidelines instead.
Poor old Oriole needs investors to stay alive alas the moral warriors seal their coffin lid shut.
There's a saying in this game. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Listen to no-one!
If the share price goes up on market sentiment then a placing isn't a problem so talking it down for whatever reason isn't going to help in any case.
Another swing trade opportunity at the worst
I think we need the bank of Oriole to come out and calm the markets before people lose their pensions....

There's no market to be uncertain. We're in a bear market and junior minors are risky. The BOD aren't going to get investment from the market, it has to be a JV. I still believe though that the world is going to be a in a dire state soon and gold will probably seems like the only safe haven if the dollar crashes (if that eventually happens)
Ask them yourself. No-one here has your answers, just opinions

One last thing. If you have a complaint about how the business is being run, send Oriole a polite email and ask for answers to your questions. Writing on this board to try and get support for a hypothetical argument isn't helpful.
I'm 65% down cekim. I invested for the long term based on the fundamentals of a junior doing exploration in a potential new district. A complete gamble that I can just about afford to lose because I understand the game. I didn't invest because I thought their legacy assets would come good. I also didn't invest thinking I was going to get 100x in just a few weeks. I invested rationally. I don't remember lies from the BOD, I remember positive intentions and not any promises that haven't panned out as hoped. I don't see why that's a failure. I'm sure they are doing their best. You don't have to believe it, just carry on winding yourselves up. This is a long term or a day trade company. Someone very sensibly said that before, there's been about 10 day trade opportunities over the last year or more where you could have averaged down whilst you were watching this board like a hawk.
As someone who runs businesses there is always much more to it than Joe public would understand. I think discrediting Tim is harsh and unfair personally. He inherited a business and has been limited to the value he could get from those legacy things. At the beginning he was optimistic, as all new employees are, but as time went on it was clear these things were probably badly set up and were going to be much longer burns. However, he charted a new course and took a great opportunity to turn it all around. It takes 5 years to go from exploration to a mineable resource (which he said from the beginning about the lasonde curve) so we're still early days on this venture. The possibility of Cameroon being something big remains and the evidence from Tim's team has been true so far. These things are not going to happen overnight, they will take time. If you're a long term holder and you fear dilution, then how did you think a junior minor would fund exploration? Objectively, it sounds like many of you are expecting quick money still to recover your over-exuberance and limited foresight and are bashing the company for not operating like a conglomerate. You have to think of this as a start up with all the associated risks. Take responsibility for your investment and remove emotion or maybe just sell up. Reading complaints from behind a keyboard is very very tiring. Tim's experience is vastly greater than any of us and I'm confident they are all doing their best, after all their jobs (or their lifestyle as you call it) depend on it. Please please please just give it a break and be constructive. You've said you don't want dilution, the board will hear that and will be very empathetic, they're human not the devils you're creating.
And for the cynics, no I have no connection to anyone at Oriole, just a long term holder with a bit of faith
