My sympathies for anyone caught up in this, I remember looking at it at the time of the placing and don't think I've ever seen such blatant insider selling before news of that landed. The previous CFO has some serious questions to answer but as we always see at this end of the market nothing will ever happen. One takeaway is that an CFO departure is a always a decent red flag, easy to say in hindsight but it's often proven the case.

Trust is one of those key intangibles of all companies and when it goes it can be a long road back.

Speaking of which it's a decent way to see context of how cheap nat gas is right now, see 10Y or even 25Y view. Buying shares in an attempt to sway to the vote is an interesting one, whether it's worth paying a 33% premium to the placing that could follow is the thing, with risk it goes the other way regardless.

Sadly in these situations they don't tend to even call a vote without knowing in advance they've got decent shareholder backing. Whole thing is very fishy and does look like a classic PI shafting so sincerely all the best for a rebellion.

@growthinvestor20 for ETF flows it makes more sense to focus on btc volume, rather than the approximate $ amounts in your link, because unless btc/usd is static (which it never is) it's another variable to take into account.

GBTC selling is a bit of a non-story now, it's been more than offset by inflows to lower fee ETFs. It will continue to offload until a tipping point of insignificance is reached so might as well get used to it for now. For example over last week GBTC reduced holding by 10.5k, while ARKB alone (4th biggest ETF) increased its holding by 8.4k.

I don't know why someone would pay 0.10 for shares today when if this vote goes through they'll be issuing 400m shares, increasing the share count by about 75%, at a price 0.075 - a 25% discount from the price they paid.

Buying and selling within 2 days taking that haircut tells us this is not a sophisticated trader. The broader point of my post - not just the part you quoted out of context - is that market makers plus panic trades like this added to the intraday volatility.

Fair comment davey50. Profit is everything and if this was making a full year profit the market would be much more willing to overlook past noise from toxic shareholder register.

Q4 tends to be the strongest for consumer discretionary, they made an adjusted EBITDA profit here which is flattered by stripping out some key recurring costs. We know it didn't make a statutory profit in Q4 because of the EBITDA qualifier. It remains to be seen if they can repeat that for a full year, even on an adjusted EBITDA basis, per forecast given 15 days into this year. Over the last 5 years, it made a statutory loss in 4 of them.

The erratic moves are definitely not helped with market makers on this. Someone will buy shares then the bid is moved up 10-15%. Same happens in other direction then you can see someone else panic sells into it. They're not really making a market here, should let it do its thing with more incremental moves.

I wouldn't call this a pump and dump, there are none of the other tell tale signs, like usual rampers on here and social media is dead on it, it's nothing organised. Most people on this board are bearish on it if anything. It just has a wide spread now market cap fallen to £200k, so when someone buys it jumps disproportionately and sells vice versa. Chart with timeframe of 6 months shows there's been no meaningful pumping, dropping 80% in 6 months until around time Peel Hunt bought last month.

Argo's altcoin (lack of) strategy is one of the weirdest things about it. They've been holding a bit of Polkadot for years, then last year they acquired a couple of random ones called LAYR and ASTRA (no me neither), meanwhile they continue to sell every last bitcoin.
