Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Frenchcafe, I don’t know if you listen to bbc newscast but they often focus in on specific topics with COVID. They tend to respond well to people with personal stories to tell. Just an idea but you could email them and give them your views on things? Newscast@bbc.co.uk
NIHR comment suggests UK will get more than an even share of the 900 which makes sense as much as anything else from a practical perspective. I’d imagine the 20 countries would be fairly uneven with some serving mainly to balance demographics /ethnic mix, etc. Likely that US would also be a large part of the study. I’d perhaps expect 4 or 5 being the lion’s share of patients, and wouldn’t surprise me if less than 20 countries are used eventually.
Excited!
Talked about vaccines. Then took some more questions on vaccines, and just as I thought he was going to miss the opportunity to talk about a new Lancet article on a great treatment development, he chucked in a few more comments on....vaccines.
Honestly, I think media has no particular interest in treatments. If Synairgen is to succeed, and I think it will, it will be behind the scenes all the way.
Phase 2 RNSs were:
18th March, trial approved
31st March, dosing commenced
28th May, recruitment completed
20th July, results
I'm expecting the same pattern with P3, possibly with more country-specific information given the scale of it.
Statements like this will help:
"The breakthrough makes SNG001 only the second drug scientifically proven to treat the disease, the other being the £5 steroid dexamethasone."
Hopefully this is taken fairly directly from the Lancet article. Suspect not, but here's hoping.
We had two sources I believe on Lancet publication coming soon. Too much of a coincidence. I note that early online papers seem to be published regularly on Wednesdays and Thursdays...
Phase 2 published and people will rightly start talking about SNG001.
Scinv, you generally make valid points, but my God, you're so bloody grumpy!
So I'm not overly keen on speculation of this type, but it strikes me that there's a good chance of a positive RNS early next week - either some positive updates on Monday morning to add some certainty ahead of the general meeting vote, or as positive updates contained in the RNS to confirm the result of the vote.
I think the bloke who updates the share price charts has fallen asleep!
Giving this a bum as nobody has commented on it and it strikes me as significant. I suspect it was hidden by the eva-driven crap last night.
New to this board so don't know if you will have seen this before. Thought I'd share as I saw it in passing while looking at the therapeutics.

I heard they're renaming the RECOVERY TRIAL to SNG017. You heard it here first :)
I unfiltered Parsley less than an hour ago. What as I thinking? Back on filter...
I know there's a 30 day timeline on IND, but that was a timescale for the FDA to get back, after which if you haven't heard from them you can proceed. I'd assume it's possible to go quicker if the FDA prioritise and responds.

This is the article I refer to on vaccine effectiveness, really helpful to put it in context.
For my part I'm waiting until next week to take up the offer. I'd expect it to be heavily over subscribed, but some won't take any so there will be a few extra for everybody.
More of a puddle than a sea.
Not that I'm an expert, but I don't see anything other than conditions that make it a bit pointless to buy or sell at the moment.
Lots of new placing share owners bought in at £1.75, and I'd expect they will happily take marginal gains should the share price increase, especially as they're likely also subscribed for the conditional offer. I think yesterday we saw some take a 5% return, and would expect that if we reach 175+10% then we'd get another tranche of sales. I see it all as suppressing any increases in the share price until the conditional offer is completed, and likely for a week after that - all in the absence of news that is. Also in these circumstances, the conditions for day traders are I guess pretty terrible.
So in my view, it'll just be a bit of a dull few weeks, unless significant news is forthcoming. FDA IND application might stir things up a bit.
Not an expert, but I've been trying to take into account market dynamics, not just company potential, and share price movements are slowly starting to make a bit more sense.
EMA a big unknown too of course.
Watching the news earlier I just felt very sad that it looks likely that the real life-changing treatments are going to arrive after much of the winter has passed. I still see a huge case for SNG but it's tragic that so many people won't benefit from it or other equally effective treatments.
