RE: slow here , any thoughts24 Mar 2022 13:42
Agree with Stickybob and Reggie,
TGR made waves last year and has cooled down since - but it remains one of the few (currently 2/3) producing graphite companies ex-China and it is expanding that production, forging a path ahead to profitability as it does so at a time when graphite demand is set to expand by multiple factors. I think TGR is overlooked because it doesn't hype itself up in the way many of its peers do, particularly those listed on the ASX and TSX. Perhaps this is because of the current operations of the company being regarded as distant by investors located in the UK. But I am happy to remain committed to the long term here as long as TGR'S management continue to deliver on their promises, which so far they have - in 12 months since listing they increased production capacity by 4x from 3,000tpa to 12,000tpa and will do so again by another 3x to 30,000tpa in the middle of this year. As Stickybob references, in house innovations like the CFS will further reduce costs and standout TGR as one of, if not the lowest graphite producers out there. Reaching 30,000tpa capacity in Madagascar will in my opinion show to the market that TGR is capable of reaching its mid-term goal of 84,000tpa by 2024 alone which should bring in more investor confidence and investors on the register. It's about building a track record rather than making promises but not delivering.
Downstream Patalganga is due to be expanded by 3x from 1,200tpa currently to 4,800tpa in Q3. I hope we get a breakdown of sales and indications of the future demand in the next results update, as well as ideas of what the company is thinking beyond its 2024 MTDP.
Mozambique acquisition news shouldn't be too far away - massive assets to feather TGR's hat if/when this transaction completes, and TSG transaction news will hopefully be in the not too distant future.
Other downstream news for first half of next year I reckon will be the 15,000tpa downstream plant, with a 3,000tpa capacity for spherical graphite - this could be vital and a huge area for TGR if it gets it right. I hope the company is strategising and receiving good advice on this front.
Looking at graphite prices and the fundamentals and foundations being laid by TGR i'm v bullish. In my opinion this is another accumulation and patience phase on the company's journey. Make sure to DYOR, read the announcements, presentations and watch the interviews. Good luck all.
