I might take a punt if this goes sub 5p - just a few hundred quid (couple of hundred thousand shares or so) the way things are going, it's only a matter of time before the next big drop imo as the debt level is unsustainable.

Looks like this is heading for sub 30p again? If they lose the appeal, there's no saying how low it'll go, motley fool recently suggested 1.5p to 3p a share... think I might hold off and see where this bottoms before I even consider buying any shares.

The company is a lot bigger than it was in 2015 when the share price bottomed out at 25p. So I can't see prices going anywhere near that low again - if I does it'll be the bargain of the century and every man and his dog would be buying in, so it wouldn't stay there long. Personally I think £1 is probably the bottom, it might dip briefly below but not by much. At some point later this year, this'll be back above £1.50 easily.

Ted has a tiny number of shares in issue - anyone shorting this would have to be extremely careful. Any positive news and the share price could rise very quickly and they might have difficulty closing their position. It may also be shorters see very little downside from the current price, it just isn't worth their while (or risk).

Hi Cruis, I'm hopeful the pandemic will soon be over, of course that'd be a positive for cinemas, as it would for all businesses, let's hope that's the case. It's important though to continue to listen to the experts, epidemiologists such as Dr Fauci, and to continue to keep abreast of any developments regarding new variants. And indeed share this information with others Incase they missed it.

It's the weighing machine part where cineworld falls on it's backside.

Number, the article highlights the potential upside as well as the potential downside and risks. $10 billion liabilities is a major concern - if you don't think it is, I'm sorry but I'd call that being in denial.

Cineworld’s share price is still 40% lower than it was one year ago. One cloud hanging over the firm is a recent Canadian court ruling that it must pay rival Cineplex C$1.2bn in damages for a failed acquisition deal.

The UK company is appealing that verdict, but if Cineworld loses I think it will be difficult to find the cash without further fundraising activity.

For me, this situation is too much of a gamble. If everything goes right for Cineworld, I think the shares might double this year.

But there’s a lot that could still go wrong. And with nearly $10bn of potential liabilities, I think the shares could also fall sharply in 2022. I’ll be staying away.

I can't see this falling all the way back to 25p that we saw in 2015 because the company is so much bigger now. The bottom is *probably* around £1 imo.

If it goes lower, I'll be delighted to start accumulating - as it is, I'm happy to wait a couple more months before deciding whether or not to buy in - I can't see it moving up much in the short term so I feel I can afford to wait and let it bottom out a bit. Medium to long term, I can see this making a good recovery because it's a strong brand that's very popular with the younger generation in particular, plus they own Debenhams of course, which isn't to be sniffed at either.

Sammy, if the company loses the appeal and are ordered to pay Cineplex the £700m where's the money going to come from? The company is already £8bn in debt. This isn't trolling or deramping, it's simply asking the kind of questions any investor should be asking..

100p by march? Lol this is way over valued at 39p the shares are near worthless when you factor in debt. Motley Fool are suggesting the shares could soon be worth just 1.5p to 3p. Sell while you still can imho.

The company was in massive debt even before the pandemic hit. And yet Mooky decided to go on a spending spree. Pandemic or no pandemic, it was a very foolish thing to do. Very poorly thought through. And he's the boss, the buck stops with him. He's 100% responsible for where the company and it's share price is today.

Mooky confident as ever? The guy is responsible for the share price being where it is today, how can anyone draw confidence in what he thinks? If he hadn't gone after Cineplex there'd be no £700m court case hanging over the company and the share price would still be in the 70s or 80s. When the company is already in massive debt, trying to buy Canada's largest cinema chain was an idiotic thing to do - and it's ended up costing the company and its shareholders dearly.

I think most people, certainly at this time of year when it's cold and miserable outside, prefer to get some beers in, invite their friends round and watch Netflix (£5.99 to £13.99 a month, cancel anytime, watch as many movies as you want). It's a lot cheaper than cinema and with large screen TVs now cheap as chips, (prices start £750 for a 75" TV, £1500 for an 86") more and more people are enjoying a near cinema experience at home.
