The Covid patent SNG filled was very specific on steroid use that implies to me that they felt their existing patent portfolio covered the basics.

Regardless of the patent situation the time for SNG to defend their IP is if someone starts monetising their solution until then there is little point in spending money on litigation.

Barry - If you read the patent in more detail it only says Influenza Like Illness. I think Covid meets the criteria of an influenza like illness.

Anapa69 - The issue is a significant % of the UK population has had the AZN vaccine which is known to be significantly less effective against the SA variant of the virus.

France currently has a worrying development that a significant % of their infections arête SA variants.

Ergo if we import these infections through travel our vaccinated population is not protected.

Any country with new virus variants will be blacklisted from travel rightly so.

TipTop - I’d say it’s promising, we’d be a good candidate drug, we have worked with NIHR before and they know about our good data.

With all of the above you’d assume they’d have no choice but to pick us we are one of the only drugs out there with a track record as a prophylactic and good safety data.

But then again I wouldn’t put anything past this government. At least Oxford is not involved...

Protect-CH seems similar to and active-2 Setup targeting care homes.

Treatments will be chosen by government’s medical advisors. As soon as treatment is shown to be effective or ineffective it is removed from the study.

If SNG is not selected for the trial there is some serious questions to be answered.

Polar holding is now up to date and a few new names have joined the list Rathbone Sussex in for 100k the latest.

I saw a tweet recently that had a graphic from a analysis site that estimated ii holding in excess of 35% the number is slowly increasing.

If there was any serious safety issue in any of the trials they would have been suspended and we would have had to have been informed of this.

So it is pretty clear that there is no serious safety problem with the drug.

In-terms of efficacy if there was clearly no benefit then the Activ2 trial could get canned at any point by the DMC this hasn’t happened so again no news is good news, although they may not have lifted the lid yet.

With respect to HT they collected an awful lot of data so it will take time to analyse we are not far off finding out results, all scientific studies to date point to the IFN pathway being key but don’t under estimate the power of placebo.

Kevin - Be careful what you wish for. I could link to several Covid plays which frequently flood the market with pointless RNS’s.

If you read their news history it is full of promises, corrections, false starts, redactions, pivots.

The share prices swing all over the shop and not a lot happens.

The news flow here is steady it’s accurate and the BOD delivers.

I know what I prefer.

The point is that nothing is proven yet we are still very much in the middle of the experiment, summer we will enter the "challenge trials".

What I am fearful of is vaccinated people having the impression they are now completely secure from Covid and the complete loss of distancing and good practices.

I'm not saying people should not get vaccinated they very much should, but we also all need to be realistic hundreds of people in an Air Conditioned aircraft fuselage no thanks our understanding of the real world effectiveness of the vaccine is simply not there yet, neither is the global coverage of vaccination programs.

Doc - Your paper is lovely except it’s data collected under lockdown rules.

Post lockdown data will be the data of interest.

I worry the vaccine gives people a false sense of security.

I have a feeling there will be plenty of top up opportunities as March progresses.

I remember the doom and gloom the week before manic Monday when others are fearful is usually when the best gains are to be had.
