RE: Paid Deramping?19 Aug 2018 16:51
Scully - Again i need to pull you up old boy.
I am now 58 years of age, been retired for 3 years now. I first invested shares in 1982 ( SAYE ), then new issues, in the early 80's.
I have built a portfolio over 30 years, thorough bull and bear runs.
As you know from both my posting history and from out previous chats, i hold a decent sized growth and income portfolio.
I only trade with between 5 - 10 % of my portfolio, you know this. To call me a trader is as you know, is not the full picture - i trade in and out on aim shares, mainly for fun as I don't like to get spiked ( as you are on OKYO )
I am not interested in getting it perfectly right - i buy in low and attempt to get out before the rise stalls.
I don't listen to the ramps from others, but they are useful for quick profits, thanks again for all your efforts last week - very helpful to me - just a couple of clicks to buy in and a couple more to get out again, have you calculated how long it took you complete your 400 + last week ?
I agree we don't always get it right - i have a couple shares in my bottom drawer.
To me you seem to get emotionally attached to shares - ( OKYO is a case in point, BTW feel free to answer my questions over on that bb ).
So as a chap with over over 35 years of trading, i regret i am not a newbie and cocky, i certainly don't chase losses ( check out your trading history on OKYO - that's chasing losses matey )
Am i criticising your trading decisions ( notice i said Trading not investment decisions ), well yes i guess i am. I can only comment on the decisions you have made - sorry if that's not to your approval.
You mention that you are up over time, but i'm sure you posted somewhere about a week ago that you were hoping one of your trades would come good to claw back your losses - or did i misread, that post of yours.
I generally don't like rampers, people tend to lose more following their views than the views of those with a more cautious viewpoint. I don't personally ramp shares i find i tend not to need to, as their are rampers on most aim bb's who do that job for me. When I am in a share i tend to keep my thoughts close to my chest. It can be embarrassing when it goes wrong ( as i guess you know from your trades on OKYO ).
As for ALBA don't forget to get a nice big hat for to eat for 4.30 on Aug 31st, lol.
Clearly you wish to influence others on here with your 400 + ramps, ( perhaps I do too ) but imv its important for any potential newbies here, to understand how well posters, actually perform in reality.
Bet of luck buddy
