rdajee - would you post a link to your data source if possible or alternatively maybe give a full break down of the £991.6m intangibles figure.

i'd like to understand what are the solid assets within the intangibles figure.

rdafee - intangibles are quoted at £991.9m on the h& l website for debs under financials.

also quoted at £991.9m on this website in the consolidated accounts section of the 2017 finals RNS published by debs - check out the RNS dated 27th october 2017.

are we talking at cross purposes - not sure.

total assets - £2209m ( including £991m of intangibles )
Total liabilities - £1292m

net assets - £917.6m

makes intangibles a huge part of overall net current asset position.

be helpful to know on what basis this figure has been calculated and actual breakdown.

The intangible assests are in the last financials at £991.90m.

Does anyone have a view as to their genuine value ?

Any alteration in their value would alter the net asset position.

Hope debs survives particularly my local stores , as I do use them.

This mornings cock up on the RNS was really unacceptable. PI's base investment decisions on the back for Company info.

Surely someone proof read it before it was delivered to the market ???

It must be a pain for ARSO dealing with AST, no wonder it has to go back time and time again for info and amendments.

How many wells will need to be up and running with likely depletion rates to create a cashflow positive position. Any companies remaining in the SR must be considering the time it takes to get permits agreed, when looking at this asset on a longer term basis, or hoping they might be able to do better in terms of communication with the powers that be than AST has.

Surely any PI's under water here will now just be hoping and praying that they can recover any money they have invested ?

longlad - yes you have my aim trading strategy down to a tee.

i usually hold 90 -95% of my portfolio in ftse 350 shares for income and growth. though i have recently come out of a number of good quality shares that just seem a little toppy at the moment. i can always get in again when the geo political position settles down.

as for aim - to me its about making a return on a trade, not locking cash up getting spiked and waiting for things to come good.

shedulike - ast has been a good share for me has traded it quite a few times, i may do so again if i see an opportunity. if this was a tennis match then yes at the moment i am on the other side of the net, but hey ho tomorrow we could be playing doubles together. you never know.

its all about risk / reward.

just got offered 0.7745p to buy, not for me at that price.

obone - on the bid price you mention that means the person who bought the 50000 shares at 13.02 yesterday for a buy price of 0.8295p is roughly looking at a £500 paper loss!

maybe those spiked are holding holding and hoping, whereas those not invested are watching on the sidelines and taking advantage of opportunities elsewhere.

kaisersuzae - as i started typing lse had reduced it down 0.775p , by the time i pressed post, they adjusted it back up to 0.8p

the reality is that the last sell at 14.35 was at 0.7625p, and i did a dummy buy on the close and got offered, 0.7950p, which i declined lol.

yes no trades for nearly 2 hours !

though someone was encouraged to buy 500000 at 12.53 today at a buy price of 0.8295 - total cost of trade was £4148.

with the closing mid price settling at 0.775p, that's someone a few pounds under at close of play today.

still there's always tomorrow, 12 trading days left in sept.

Bradis - if its so undervalued in your view, why don't you buy more shares - you can get sub 0.8p to buy, at the moment - then you could reduce your average.

i've sold up a number of holdings that were looking a bit toppy lately, and find myself with 20% of my isa stock and share account in cash at the moment.

not planned, but with market nerves over recent weeks it looks like i have a bit of a war chest, to take advantage of dips as we move into the autumn, qlt is one on my watch list.

roganjt - believe, avington and horndean combined produced oil for a net loss for ukog,last year you may want to check the sept 2017 final accounts for conformation.

i am loving the ewt. it's given me 4 in and out trading opportunities, so far - looking for more in the coming weeks.
