danielh, well I suppose there is nothing stopping them changing they way they charge for its service but its been free for the last few years or so. The one caveat is that it takes time to transfer ISA's, months sometimes, in which you loose access to the funds or the ability to trade them. Not great if you have to sell or there is a market crash/rise you want to trade into or out of. I don't know why, in this digital day and age it cant be done much simpler and quicker, oh and without exit penalties. Surely if you are good enought, people will want to stay with you anyway.

I dont know what IG's new charge is but I would say to them you want to move fee free as they have change the terms (costs) thereby saving on any exit fees or penalties they might impose and raise it as a formal complaint if they still want to charge you as you can take it further if need be. doesn't like the update as the SP is down over 4% I had a quick look this morning and though they were ok, pension and debt down and divi up a tad Maybe the market was expecting more or there were some black clouds lingering from comments this morning but I missed that so will try and catch up later today

I'm not so sure. If I was smuggling drugs into prison I would buy one of their drones. Now if it tracked drones like an AWAC and then intercepted those breaking the rules ok. Might be handy for those legitimate users who accidently stray off course due to human error

As Vod normally trades around 200-235 what did you think would be the catalyst for a rise above that level apart from the Liberty talk. Markets were already at highs. Still my crystal ball aint much better, my Talk top up looks like bad money after more bad money. Would have been better off invested here or on Federer's next match.

patxd, it did a few years ago but its become the norm now. Still us Brits like our holidays and smartphones so it will be difficult to put that genie back in the bottle. Cheaper phone calls was the only benefit I could think of for remaining in the EU, apart from some money they gave me to plant trees but not everyone could get that. Just out of interest why didnt you sell in the new year? I assume you knew about the due payment well in advance and the SP was well above its 200 day average. Now its more of a buy then a sell being under its 200 day but you do have a bit more time for it to rise (of fall) but personally I'd be selling on the next big jump on Liberty talk. Are there penalties for late payment? I might be tempted to forget to send the cheque, dog ate the post etc until you get a better price. Of course it could fall over that time too. On a brighter note, less CGT to pay

on holding this. The inflation linked divi has disappeared and the low/no debt has increased to a �240m facility. Assuming they will reduce this from current use does that mean another round of share placings or will the script cover this over time, doubt it. Top up done under NAV and divi increased a tad, although with generation above budget does not bode well if the wind stops blowing. The company managers seem to be doing better than the shareholders though! Still I have to pick up scraps of something and the running yield on the initial batch will be up again, so more like a bond than a share so might counter balance other parts of my PF. Maybe I should have added somewhere else with all these mixed feelings but what investments make you truly happy to be an investor. Holding for the quarterly slight divi increase

was it issued a bit late? why not at 7am.? Still good news and a five year contract. I'm not sure how many more locations will be added apart from those mentioned, it would be nice to have a percentage figure. It is not just the price but PF balance, free cash, opportunity and ISA availability to take into account too. Vodafone was at one point towards the top end of what I would hold in an individual stock but after buying others is now in the window of being able to be added too again. The recent dip might have been ok, did it get below 200? but my last top up was just above 193. 180 would see me bite now but I doubt it will get there unless Mr Market is having a meltdown. Around the 200 mark aint too bad if you can get it away from the taxman. Maybe build up some funds for a summer isa splurge as I suspect late march early april is when the isa monies get shoved in and SP might spike a tad, good for you maybe. Doubt you will let me have yours for 180!

FX plays a part too and with shell you have the poo too. As the � strengthens it reverses the divi gains on both and the poo has fallen soo no wonder Shell is off a tad.

Yes Dan, you are on a different wavelength and timescale to me. You are selling soon and I would like to add more at some stage but can wait longer than you to buy. Ideally in the next ISA tax year to save having to give some to the tax man and fiddle with all those forms. I suppose you will be doing your best JC Malone impression, talking up a deal to boost the price the week before no doubt. Still we can both win as the SP might bounce soon and you might get some deal news or noise. If I'm buying, you will be panicking no doubt. I expect it to rise a tad now rather than fall back into interesting territory but one can hope and a week can be a long time in shares. Do you have a sale price in mind?

I see no reason currently why the divi should be cut. The last couple of years maybe as the figures were not good with project spring. Now that is over the fundamentals should start to improve somewhat. We are starting to see the improvements filtering through so providing the trend continues things will be fine. The unknown is the Liberty thing. There is talk of some sort of deal but they are struggling with that odd shaped banana. Getting it out of the jar might mean several things, more debt temporarily, issuing more shares or a bit of both. Asset swaps also on the cards or more JV's so several options without cutting the divi. I'm sure they want to keep paying a divi even if they wished it was at a slightly lower rate but they wanted to send a message of confidence to shareholders over the Spring period. Lets hope it drops a tad more but I suspect the market is about to ride the roundabouts next week

Well all shares drop on ex divi but you are correct that this seems to recover. The quarterly divis should lead to a flattening of the see saw effect. Its nice when Mr Market takes things down a tad and you get to buy in relatively cheaper and a divi bagged to boot. Just a pity about the script dilution but I suppose it helps with cash to buy more assets without doing more placements

I beg to differ, what has changed in vodafone over the last month that has caused it to fall 30p? To me it looks like it is trading almost the same but the cost is cheaper to buy now than last month. Buy low, sell high! where high = never but keep bagging the divi and reinvesting whilst low

Should I have added more here instead? I think it was that fact I had sort of stopped me doing it anyway but as this falls in percentage terms of my overall PF there is more room to add more. I even have one eye on Burberry and that was initially getting my Talk money. Then again lots of things starting to look very interesting now makes a change from having cash and wondering where to deploy.

If you though it was a good income buy at a tenner then it must be worth reinvesting some at �7.50? Even more income and there is that compounding effect to boot! I suspect that come divi payment time things wont look as bleak
