Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
That is correct. VR will be a really big thing / is becoming a really big thing. Unfortunately it won't be a really big thing for sitting down and watching a concert for 2 hours.
A recent research document said gaming will account for the majority of VR usage followed by education then design related use (seeing what the inside of a house, hotel or car looks like).
Even Sky are struggling to get VR usage up. A Sky poll showed the reason for this is because customers would rather watch a sporting event on their 50 or 60" TV rather than wear a cumbersome headset for 90 minutes.
If you Google top uses for VR you will see I'm telling the truth.
Someone below said the Head of Technology for John Lewis said sales of Oculus VR headsets are up 280%. It's true. But there are two important things to consider...
1) Oculus owners are mostly teenage or twenty-something gamers. Mostly. People on here have taken the mick out of me in the past when I said my kids only use VR for gaming, same as MOST of their friends. Say what you like. It's true. Ask your grandkids, nice or nephew what they MOSTLY use their VR headset for. They will say "gaming". Teens live at a thousand miles an hour. They dont have the patience to sit and watch a concert.
2) With the new 2020 Oculus you MUST have a Facebook account. You didn't need a Facebook account in 2019. Facebook have done this for a reason. They want to hook these subscribers because they are beefing up their own VR offering to include... entertainment, live concerts etc etc. Facebook have a ready made audience, they aren't going to let another company be better than they are. Just wont let it happen.
People mention the Liam Gallagher show. Does anyone know what % of viewers were using VR headsets?
In the past ONE week you could have doubled your money in any one of three blockchain companies.
Everyone saw it coming. Obvious.
On Monday Peter O'Reilly sold 163,00 shares at probably around 55p (if he sold them between 8am and 9.30). The RNS came out at 1pm. Thats around £90k.
He's been a holder since 2007 when they were 24p so he's doubled his money, but not sure about his timing.
They are 66p today, so that's £17,580 he's missed out on in two days.
Looking at the long term chart, these hit 180 in Jan 2018, so 66p looks cheap.
They were a tenner in March 2000 (internet bubble).
"there DEBT , which you also might need to check the meaning of in the dictionary"
You might like to use the dictionary to check the difference between their and there.
I'm sure there is no need to be sarcastic and suggest fellow posters should refer to the dictionary.
This might well drop back after such a huge rise, but this company is worth a lot more more than 3p a share.
In a previous RNS they said remote working had been good for business, and from what we are currently seeing there is going to be a lot more home working, not just during the pandemic, as remote working is going to be the new norm.
They could have been a bit more forthcoming on the quality and quantity of gold, but you may recall that Tri-star resources tried to do this and failed so it is a massive breakthrough that this company have managed to do a successful gold pour. And in a safe and developed country like the USA makes it all the better.
One of the golden rules of investing is keeping an eye on director share dealings.
I notice non-executive director Simon Cole sold 1.7 million shares at 3.35 pence on December 18th, 22nd and 23rd.
He obviously has a lot of faith in the company - not.
No sure if anyone with ShareScope or another dealing system noticed the incorrect news release by Alliance News at 08:03:13 today?
They said "Bahamas Petroleum: Drilling At Perseverance Well Halted Due To Court Decision".
I contacted them to say that was incorrect.
Dear Alliance News,
You have issued an incorrect news release.
Today you said:-
Headline: *Bahamas Petroleum: Drilling At Perseverance Well Halted Due To Court Decision
Date/Time: 29/12/2020 08:03:13
In fact, the company released an RNS today stating:-
"The ruling of the Court on 24 December 2020 means that drilling of the Perseverance #1 well in The Bahamas, currently underway since 20 December 2020, has continued"
Please issue a correction as drilling has not been halted.
They have just issued a CORRECTION
Headline: *CORRECT: Bahamas Petroleum Notes Drilling Of Perseverance 1 Well Continues
Date/Time: 29/12/2020 11:39:54
Then, they also issued another news release:-
Headline: *Bahamas Petroleum: Court Refuses Bid To Stop Drilling Activity At Perseverance Well
Date/Time: 29/12/2020 11:41:10
Its only 6.48 in the Bahamas so that's probably not about todays hearing but still very positive as many dealers and institutions use the Alliance News feeds.
Although this is a touchy subject at the time of a global pandemic, both Moderna and Pfizer have indicated that they would be making a profit on their vaccines, unlike Johnson and Johnson and AstraZeneca, who have indicated that they would sell vaccines at cost through the pandemic.

I don't think anyone would mind AstraZeneca making 10% or 15% when you consider the astronomical markups pharmaceutical companies usually make. Then again, only they know what their costs are so might add a small markup to cover expenses? (But with the cost of the AstraZeneca vaccine rumoured to be around $4 a shot there's obviously limited scope for markups).
Whilst AstraZ have said they don't want to profit (unlike their competitors), they should be able to "cover their costs" which should help protect the bottom line (plus provide many other lucrative benefits).
I know that buys vs sells are often miss reported, but 3m v 17m did seem like quite a wide discrepancy.
Some excellent responses nonetheless.
Today's trading volumes tells you everything you need to know.
Six times as many sells v buys.
How many will continue with a paid subscription after the 3 month "free" trial is up? Not many.
Those of you who read my last few posts on here will know Lekoil was my only loser this year.
That has changed today :-)
And only down 14%.
As I write this Lek are down 21%.
1p bid. 1.75p ask. That's a 75% spread.
I wasn't expecting a rise today, but wasn't expecting a 21% drop either.
a huge spread usually means the MMs do not want to touch these with a barge pole.
So Melody had 400k paying customers who watched Boy George and 9 million watched the dua lipa gig.
Why haven't they released an RNS to let shareholders know what revenues were?
And I genuinely thought one of the massive unique selling points of this company was their virtual reality offering?
When suspension was announced there was considerable interest from some experienced people about ousting the director's and taking over the helm. That could make for an interesting few days before the Christmas hols.
The RNS about the $1.9m director loan said "independent directors of the Company consider that the terms of the transaction are fair and reasonable insofar as its shareholders are concerned".
Do share holders think its fine for a director to have a $1.5m loan (for several years) which has increased to $1.9m?
Maybe if the directors focused more on running this business they would not get scammed by non-existent Saudi Sovereign Wealth funds and the company would be in a much better place.
What happens if they get short of funds and need to do a raise while a director has nearly 2 million dollars of company funds?
If it's not going to rise until 2023, why not come back end of 2022? Why put money in now?
Would yoy put your money in a bank that will pay interest in two years time, or a bank that will pay interest now?
Really like heerflicks post saying nothing anyone says on this BB can influence the outcome of the trades or share price so why do people on this site allow themselves to get upset by other people’s comments?
But, if you really have done your research, how many people really do have have a VR headset (potential audience size) who could take full advantage of Melodies capabilities, and how many people would watch a concert or show on their mobile phone or tablet if they didn't have a VR headset?
All reasonable questions.
2.57 to buy so no decent rise yet.
But it should come..
Wolf isn't a holder so doesn't have the best interests of this share in mind. What a load of rubbish! It just shows the investing mentality of a lot of people on this forum.
How many analysts hold the shares they are studying and scrutinizing? They will give an honest opinion based on their research, on data and other factors.
When will people realise you do not have to be a holder to have the right to post your opinion about a share (that's down again, I see).
