Yes, sometimes so. However I am seeking reasons to think they would favour IES, rather than any one else.

My knowledge of this area is not sufficient, but if a competitor gets exclusivity, it could be serious for IES. Of course, it is not yet commercialised, so any threat is not immediate, but it seems to me an important development.

I'm sure they will be interested.

But the Germans may have other avenues of exploiting it, to IES' disadvantage. they do have their ownbattery alliances, why would they licence it to a competitor?

Selfish, just look at scale. And don't put words in my mouth. The amount invested in WN has to work, if it were to fail the others in the PF cannot possibly compensate. We can argue all night over wordings, the point is, for anybody's investment to come good here, WN has to work.

If you read the RNs the problem is that the oil is not there. Forget Kerogen, CA, tax loses. The oil is not there, that's the problem.

Even the tax losses may not be as valuable as some think. I am not expert in N Sea tax, but am unsure that historical drill costs could be offset by another co against other projects.

My thoughts are that you reinforce success, not failure. As I posted separately, tho Corallian's current assets may come good, so far they have been useles. Imv S&S should have let Corallian wither until either another party took on funding, wait tillRBD could take them out for near nothing. or simply let the inmvestment die.

the placings to fund increased shares in WN made good sense., it was a success with huge upside. This one is not, and should have been let go.

It IS " a placing of 500m shares.", that's why. The asset value is speculative, the placing is real.

Further investment in Corallian was inevitable. S&S had 2 choices ; wtite off the investment or double down. They've made their choice. Corallian have so far been a disaster, tho the current projects do look more promising. But they are not terribly exciting, and would not, I think, have attracted RBD's attention if we were not already investors in Corallian.

It's all on west Newton,and all else is distraction. Oh, and, of course, a drag on the SP, as this morning has shown. But a fleabite compared to WN potential.
