The Liberian Putu iron ore project, where the massive Russian steel outfit Severstal has a 61.5% stake has been looked at as a potential takeover target as it holds minimum 1.1Bns tonnes of iron ore with a 38% average iron content, it is actively seeking out a joint venture partner to develop its Nkout resource in Cameroon whilst merging with African Aura. Australian registered Sundance Resources is developing a large iron ore project very close to this Nkout resource, but does not have the expensive infrastructure rail link in place yet, when it does this will enhance MANA's potential in the region.

This Co certainly is firing up the cash reserves with its increasingly popular offerings. But those who "bottle it" can lock in those 60% profits and sell 1/3 of holdings Monday morning and locking in original April investment and run remainder for, what looks like, plenty more upside on forthcoming Corporate news if the sudden share price rise signals are to be interpreted right.

By giving up its AIM listing for a place on the Main market, CEY will be elevated into the FTSE 250. AIM Tracker funds will be offloading their positions to be replaced by FTSE tracker funds which will pick up shares, in theory driving up the sp in the process. My opinion is to pre-empt this at current levels, a wink suggests that takeover talk is said to be genuine and serious but any suitor will not show their hand until much later this year.

On current 30.5/share there is a clear 20% after fees and stamp duty arbitrage situation in which cash will be offered of 39p/share.

At current 33p/share, there is still some 6p upside on the 39p/share cash offer that has been tabled. With 27% irrevocable undertakings so far, there might just be room for an improved offer in my personal opinion.

This oil and gas exploration and production company focused on North Africa and the Mediterranean, is pleased to announce that well AT-1, the second operated well in the current drilling campaign on the Isarene Block in the Illizi basin of Algeria, has been successfully drilled to its target depth of 2118 meters. The well was targeting the Ordovician sands in the Ain Tsila Ridge structure and was completed on prognosis and on budget. Wireline log information and drilling data have confirmed gas bearing intervals in the objective Ordovician sands, which are in line with expectations. The well is currently being suspended for testing. The rig is expected to leave the location shortly, to mobilize to the AT-2 location, to continue to appraise the Ain Tsila Ridge structure, as part of the 5 to 7 well programme initiated in May this year. AT-2 is currently expected to commence drilling on location around 10th August 2009. Well testing operations are expected to start at well AT-1 around the middle of August 2009 and are expected to take approximately three weeks. It is intended that the INE-2 well, the first well drilled in this multi-well programme, will be tested after the AT-1 well. The well was drilled by Petroceltic (75% interest, Operator) in association with the Algerian Oil & Gas Company Sonatrach (25% Interest).
