The PEN-105 well, an appraisal of the PEN-12 discovery, was drilled to a total depth of 1,487m and has now been completed in the tuffaceous Miocene reservoirs as a production well. Environmental permitting of the pipeline that will be used to bring the gas to market is complete and construction is planned so that gas sales from this well can commence early in 2010. The productive reservoir found at the PEN-105 location is substantially thicker than at the PEN-12 discovery well, which should translate into a significant increase in anticipated reserves for the structure. The higher than expected flow rates are attributed to the use of state-of-the-art drilling mud and perforation technology. The PEN-105 well is located some 6 kilometres west south west of the PEN-104A gas production well in which Ascent has a 45.23% interest. Other partners in the project include DualEx Energy (37.5%), Geomega (8%), Leni Gas & Oil (7.27%) and Swede Resources (2%).

(Dow Jones)--A South African mining company has offered Kopane Diamond Developments PLC (KDD.LN) $75 million for a 33% stake in its Liqhobong kimberlite project in Lesotho, a person familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires Monday. The person declined to identify the company that has made the offer and Kopane Diamonds couldn't immediately be reached for comment. Kopane holds a 75% interest in Liqhobong Mining Development Co., which operates the site, with the remainder held by the government of Lesotho. It isn't clear whether the suitor has offered the cash in exchange for a stake in the operating company or whether some other arrangement is being considered. A resource statement published late last year estimated the main pipe at Liqhobong contains a total resource of 76 million metric tons at a grade of 39.1 carats per hundred tons.

Following the recent acquisition of Minerva Resources Plc, Dwyka Resources Limited ("Dwyka" or "the Company") has rapidly moved to convert historical exploration drilling results to a Resource that can be reported to JORC standards. The results indicate a Maiden Inferred resource of 690,000 ounces of gold at 0.5g/t Au cut off. Following these results a new drilling campaign is being designed to upgrade the resource to an Indicated category and generate new Inferred Resources by drilling previously identified extensions to confirm mineralisation. Resource modelling and grade estimation of the Tulu Kapi gold Project located in western Ethiopia has been completed by independent resource consultants Hellman & Schofield. SLE This newbie to the stockmarket has resource interests in Holland, Italy, US and Morocco, where most of the interest will lie. However much of the resource apart from Morocco is the immature shale oil where the risk lies. If SLE can prove that its vapour extraction technology works commercially then we could see these shares rocket over 60p, but investors will have to wait until 2010 before any site testing begins and progress results are delivered up to the market mid to late 2010. As a caveat, much of SLE upside is dependent on the success of the oil shale trials, but if proven successful then the upside is extremely high

My guess is that there will be some 80Mns shares issued revising the isc to circa 400mns that still is a small number of issued shares. With the current holdings amounting to over 60% at the last count, that will not leave an awful lot of "free" shares. I would imagine the latest announcement will have a significant effect on the share price if a tad mooted to start with.

Announces results from the continued evaluation of historic drilling on the Wate breccia pipe located in northern Arizona. The project is within the VANE-Uranium One Exploration U.S.A. Inc. joint venture in which the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, VANE Minerals (US) LLC, holds a 50% interest.
