Yup, I believe Lloyds had agreement to purchase over 7bn shares back if they so wish. If there’s more low hanging fruit out there that needs picking to sustain a 60p resistance level, let’s hope more capital proceeds are thrown at it soon.

I agree JMO. She certainly wasn’t my choice either. And in fact by getting a PM trying to placate both sides, we’ve weakened our negotiating stance with the EU. We needed a hard-nosed Brexiteer as PM serving it up to Brussels. What we have now is paralysis and uncertainty as a result of having a PM whose heart really isn’t in leaving the EU.

Watching Farage on GMTV this morning, I couldn’t help but agree that we should never have had a Remainian as PM. I guess we can thank Gove for that.

MOD, The share chart since the buyback began is not relevant. These have dropped for a number of reasons. Rob - you’re contradicting yourself. One minute you’re suggesting the buybacks are having a detrimental effect on the share price and then you suggest that share price should drop when they’ve finished. Which is it Rob ?

I don’t set the dividends livestock nor the CEO’s pay sadly. I was merely picking holes in the article that claimed Lloyds were ramping up the dividends when that clearly isn’t happening now.

Indeed TFE, I would say a 7% increase is pretty modest livestock and not really ramping. Likewise to the disappointment of the anti-buyback brigade, I think buybacks instead of special dividends are going to be the way Lloyds goes forwards. I’d pay the article little mind......
