I wonder sometimes at the constant slagging off of AHO and the board on here. I’m fairly ambivalent as when you compare the RBS and Barclays share price over the last few years, you can see a sector trend. Without trumpeting the board, the company is back totally in full private ownership again, meets the stress tests, is paying dividends and is in fairly rude health again.
HBOS was a disaster with its associated bad mortgage book and PPI liabilities but you cannot blame AHO for the mess he inherited. With PPI finally gone next year and clarification over Brexit, one can be fairly optimistic going forward. When that translates into the share price is anyone’s guess. I guess we will have to carry on waiting in the interim.......
