Rob, the issuing of shares for the 2008 awards was going to be done irrespective of any buyback. If there was no buyback, the share awards were going to dilute the number of shares in circulation and hence the price anyway.
Ok - You believe what you want to. Myself, Chancer, LTI, Asperger and others have tried to explain this till we’re blue in the face. As Andygogo said, it’s a piddling amount yet you, Jamescuckoo and a couple of others are so hung up on it for the reason Lloyds shares have dropped. I suggest you have a read up about Apple’s buyback and countless others companies that have used buybacks.
You’re clutching at straws with the buyback as you seem to be at a loss to understand why these shares have gone down.
