Jed, the board of directors and the major investors have openly said "the shorters have got it wrong on this occasion".

Virgin, Indigo, Hifly, Fosun, Triton and at least 3 other group have not disclosed their position like the sour grapes Lufthansa, think about it.. a deal of some sorts is being done IMO.

Several of those buys this morning are mine, very very happy to get in sub 12p to reduce my average.

Even if you did a very rough calculation based on 330 million for the 40 planes that would put Thomas cook at just short of 900 million for the 105 planes they own, let alone the favoured slots within the airports.

Manchego, it could well be to sell the long haul, the airline is seperate on companies house, Virgin shoul have space still left on those flights to be able to utilise the seats for them selves, I doubt TCG have sold to capacity. As you say, it would be interesting to see what offers come out and especially from who, Virgin may not even be in the running.

The point I was trying to make is that "we are NOT going bust" we are not in the same place Flybe was in and there are at least 7 offers being put forward, Virgin Atlantic being one of them, their comment in the article is that they intend to be the largest regional airline and are likely to push for our longhaul airlines IMO.
