One reason to think we might be entitled to compensation for not getting the license, might be that the Indians presented an agreement to give us the license in their court and their ministers said they would do it.

Of course they renaged but this is documented, so the chance should be more than 0.

But there's alot of discussion about subsidies ( vat tax breaks), low environmental standards and access to cheap state funds.

If trump wants to hit China with tarrifs, maybe the CM area is a good candidate. Being small the financial ripple is manageable, the argument of securing domestic supplies for defense and tech will also resonate as logical.

When I compare that to putting tariffs on a washing machine, fluffy toy and blender it just seems more likely.

While explicit to critical minerals this does sound like "formally tell me what china did with CM with subsidies is not fair and might need correcting"

The usa is going after this if you read trumps executive order, they want to be a global leader.

I think the usa policy has big implications, if they go hard with incentives ( grants and financing support) they will just gobble up all the deposits.

The uk and EU will need to speed up and support as well.

Why give your deposit to europe if the usa might give you tax breaks and free cash to develop it.

The trump executive order is saying how critical minerals need to be considered for Federal support. The Project has been mentioned so many times as a key project by critical minerals associations they will surely get money.

Rare earths have policy saying companies should get support ( cash/grants). This is also one area where tarrifs make sense. It is a small market so the shock wave is smaller - you could do it. Tarrifs make sense, it is used in defense, tech and energy transition. Statement below says it wants usa to be a leader globally

I am sticking (stupidly) with a play with an industrial.process. if it works they can roll it out worldwide. Implementation is 2 to 3yr vs 10yrs for a mine. The only way to get some short term security.

I loaded up and offloaded a while ago after visiting the uk. The level of discounting and offers is mind boggling vs hungary, also Royal mail kept me waiting 6hrs for a delivery and I thought after that I need convincing.

Tk max has sweets, household items, discounted beauty and I thought wow this is really competative. When I left the UK my local store was far more clothes focused. Another pound shop also was in my town with dented cans etc, picking up the same type of stock, not out of date but there were lots of knocks and scrapes on the products
