RE: Approval for 2500 New Homes10 Sep 2025 09:56
problem you have is that the uk is full of bludgers. i'm from australia and have been living here for 18 years and paid close to £1m in taxes during this time. a huge amount of brits simply don't want to work, and if they do, they don't want to work too hard - look at the tube strikes for monkeys operating trains that want free tickets to legoland and to work only 32 hours a week. they've taken billions out of the economy in the space of 1 week. too many brits that dsn't want to work, and expect everything to be given to them is the issue. you've got 17% of homes in council / social housing with another 8% on the waiting list. and this is before you account for the 'right to buy' scheme that skewed the numbers downwards. for reference, in australia it's 3%. so my taxes go to paying for some lazy c@nts who can then get to buy their cheap / free home for peanuts, whilst i have to buy my home with the money left over from paying huge levels of taxes, which are amongst the highest in the developed world when accounting for all the stealth taxes here. and before anyone says 'it's all foreigners', the average 'foreigner' pays more in taxes than what they take in benefits (net contributors) versus the average brit who are net recipients. you want to fix the economy, don't blame labour. blame all the lazy brits who pay less tax than they take in benefits. as far as i'm concerned if you don't pay taxes for over 2 years then you shouldn't get the right to vote in the next election. it skews government policy toward looking after the useless, versus those who pay for their lives. you also wouldn't have had brexit happen, which has smashed the economy. the lower demographics took the line of immigration being the reason they have **** lives, rather than their laziness and the ultra wealthy taking the p!ss at the same time. i love living here, but despair when i look at all the problems with the poorer demogrpahics in this country. these demographics are populous, and get to have a say in how **** they want to make this country. for reference, in australia we f@cking hate bludgers and will vote out a government if things are tough and they are looking to increase benefits. there's more than enough low paid work here (and at home), so if you don't want to work, fine, just don't expect me to pay for your lives and go hungry. also interesting how many people are on long-term sick leave here versus the rest of the developed world. you;'ve got 7% of the workforce here who are claimingsick leave benefits. in australia it's less than half of this. the uk is an international outlier. and the level of scumminess in the lower demographics here is sickening. sadly the workers here are stuck with them and can't send them to australia anymore - we won't take them :) depending on other investments i'm lookign to make a position here. cyclical and seems way over done for the sector. just a shame that i always have to read about council and low income housing provisions.
