Let's not lose sight of point there is room for a LOT of improvement without overturning the decision.
Something substantially less than Can $1.2bn would be VERY welcome news, and or as HNS notes a case made for staged payments. After all much of the case and sums noted were about putting Cineplex in the position it would have been had deal gone through.
Synergies would not have landed in one hit.

By end of next weekend or looks like Spiderman will already have amassed more in the domestic North American box office than the ENTIRE box office for 8 of the previous 11 months.

Some of that Regal dissenting shareholders payment is yet to be paid (money in escrow) To be paid no later than March 2022.

Mountainous where are you getting the £10.2bn from? For one I feel you are confusing $ and £ figures while counting lease debts and possibly even still overstating the company's debt position.

It is bad enough as it is without overinflating it.

Agreed and for all the knockers the Marvel stuff and few other massive franchise movies are big big keys to future health of industry.
Every one of these can make multiples of weeks of film releases.

While it is most certainly not Mooky's fault COVID-19 struck it is ultimately his and the board's fault if it transpires the current ruling stands.
The legal team should have ensured correct clauses in place to offer protection from any such occurance (judge has currently ruled the agreent did not cover us).
Our legal team should also have understood and adviced on any weakness in agreement such as "ordinary course" Cineplex and their legal team seem to have interpreted this same as judge and for now we can only assume as 'correct" legal interpretation I e. normal course for type of business in the relevant circumstances it's industry finds itself.
From watching the trial it certainly seemed Cineworld wanted to get out of the deal, if the agreement was properly written up in the circumstances that should not have mattered as we would have been within rights to do so.

As things currently stand it has been adjudged Cineworld and legal team made an absolute b0ll0x of the arrangement agreement.

Let's hope a different judge/court of appeal sees the legal terms differently from what has been ruled.

Spidey was great at least and my local announced on social media it put on a 21:50pm extra screening due to levels of demand.

If our worst case is a staged payment of current award as noted by HNS then that is a big relief.

My own fault I got greedy moving all recovery share investments I had into this one pot. That goes against all sensible investment rules so if goes totally **** I need look no further than myself even if I feel legal team and board may have badly let us down should ruling stand.

Like the trading volume I see today's BB posting volume has substantially increased.

Current share price x number of shares in circulation equates to a RI now 1 unlikely to raise significant sums. 2. Massive dilution for current shareholders.
Therefore it's not currently a preferred route for me.

Fair play for honest and no doubt VERY hard post to make smalltrader.
We have had no end of disagreements here, but I fully understand and respect your dilemma you tortured over no doubt. Regardless of where this SP ends up, you have done what is right for you at this point in time.

It was stressful last October/November time, we then got some relief and even "good times" early this year. For many of us infact even to last week or so it was probably tolerable (lot that's been here since last year had averages in the 45 - 65p range).
It without doubt stings again right now, and maybe even more so than last year as I already noted.
In the absence of any currently unknown news it is very likely to continue for quite some time now to be a difficult hold for those that are here with average hold prices significantly higher than current SP.

Deramper certainly have easier pickings than rampers right now.

Good luck with your next move(s). You have at least guaranteed yourself ability to fight another day and cut a growing level of stress.

I remain for now at least, but need to bear the discomfort of being heavily down and face a possible wipe out in worst case.

What I would add is that regardless of whether Cineworld think they can win/gain in the appeal it is the crucial move for survival.
Cineworld say a year from now will/should be in a rather stronger financial position to cope with any costs than Cineworld today.
Would be happy with a couple years wait for appeal outcome ;-)

Bullsbears, no what I am saying is the markets may not have us at 10p or whatever yet as long as there is appeals option the company is not in administration.

We have some time to get solution of some sort/any sort. Without an appeals option we would very possibly be wiped out already.

Hoping more than anything now for any form of good news:
Be that: further support from lenders
US listing that goes amazing
One of any of the frequently touted buyers take a serious interest.
Box office really take off from Spiderman on
Win appeal/or at least significantly reduce damages.
Not saying any of these are certain/likely, but one/any possible to help.

I won't be shouting £ tomorrow or "wouldn't want to be out of this over weekend" any time soon though.

Let's see how this phase goes. It's certainly had many lows and a few highs since last summer.

Your average is now similar to mine I think.
I have for some time been in too heavy here really and last night was a very sleepless night.
Worse than last October/November if I am fully honest.
Thankfully there is the appeals process which buys Cineworld, the board and us holders time (hopefully long enough to find a reasonable solution).
Make no mistake the business can't currently afford to pay out this sum, so the appeal helps hold the SP this "high"
I was pleasantly surprised at 8am and since that we have not (so far) fallen further. We were lower last year with less debt and an as yet unknown set of two significant court cases, both of which we have since lost.

Seriously been considering taking some/all I have left off the table at significant losses as it's basically all the money I have that's in here (something better than nothing).

Have seen total wipe out couple times in past and have also had one where I finally got rescued by a buy out.
Currently now a LITTLE less despondent and current thinking is to closely watch volumes and any movement's of note from both Shorts and large institutional holders.
Something strong with actual substance from board would also be very welcome in coming hours/days/weeks.

Let's hope some/all learn from these experiences.
It currently stings (a lot) and if we end up with nothing for our shares that will hurt even more.
Health before wealth ultimately though and it is still free to be kind to all.

Mountainous, I struggle to see how you don't think it's that bad.
From June we have had 4 months negative cashflow and 1 positive hopefully 2 by end this month.
Any cash position is unlikely to be much/any higher than we were in June and we need to keep a certain amount of cash for one of the loan clauses.
Movie line up for January and Feb is very weak.
We do not know details of whether any sums need paid yet regardless of appeal or not nor do we know timeframes for appeals process.
I feel sick to bottom of my stomach I and others may well be facing loss of all our investment or a very very long road back from severe share dilution or other measures company may require to survive.
A number here were closed to any possibility of a trail loss, whether that was blinded by investment or whatever. We need to be open to possibilities other than those we personally desire.

Can't see this board being pleasant today or for a while if it lasts. :-(

Agreed very enjoyable film and deserving of praise it is receiving. So far however as regards cinemas it is proving to be a flop at box office :-(
Spidey tomorrow night for me which should be very busy.
Last 3 have been poor (Clifford evening showing Sunday, only me. Westside Story release night about 15 of us. Blue Bayou another good little film evening screening 2 of us).
Fully expecting return to good numbers second half this month for Spidey, Kingsman, Matrix

A cashflow positive December would obviously be very welcome.
However that is a long way from hitting what Cineworld were targeting for "by year end"
December is normally a strong month for Cinema business so "just" being cashflow positive isn't really time for celebration.
We should be hoping to bank extra to cover for normally lower revenue months .
Here is hoping Spidey hits and even smashes projections.
