Zero chance of a 2021 profit per details Hexam noted and similarly anything around/near breakeven half 2 be great.
Like last couple results updates it's more about forward statement and matters outside business trading I e. Court appeal/timescales etc, debt covenants and possible waivers, initial trading Q1 2022, any updates on possible routes to further funding e.g. US listing or other methods. Any significant new deals with studios, details on how well the previously noted new locations are doing, further cost savings and quantifying the benefits as it was noted too early to say at last results.

On what we have there it seems back to the interpretation of "ordinary course".
If there is a previously stated legal description for it then should be an easy outcome one way or other. If not then we are back to how judge (s) decide it should be interpreted.

Is "normal course" how business has carried out operations in normal day to day business previously.

Is it how businesses in an industry behave in a particular set of circumstances?

Judge Conway deemed the later, I don't know if that is correct or not.

Award for "synergies' however above is ruled does seem very wrong however.
Some form of damages may well have been correct to award, but I do not understand synergies.

In fairness although Scream has opened strong (for the movie it is) we still don't have the volume of movies and we are heavily reliant on the "comic book" movies.

January (currently) looks like it will do well to end at 60/65% of prior years totals for month.
Look so far at each month without the single comic book movie in many months we would be looking at Jack sh*t box office.

US Box Office we want to be seeing c. $1bn per month in very rough terms. Currently $260m!? for first 16 days
A $30-$40m weekend blockbuster isn't enough in any given week.

As each movie that does well for its budget shows the case again then hopeful Hollywood will increase their cinematic output to support the comic books (as it is far to lumpy and unreliable to depend fully on them alone, even if they do generate a hugely disproportionate percentage of cinema take).

Good to see another positive day for SP, can't say it feels as good as when they were positive near and above £ though.

Cruis, only 7 weeks for March 4th release for The Batman isn't it!?

Not sure Death on the Nile was ever going to be massive, dont see the wide appeal for it to make huge box office.
Uncharted release around then some hope for it to make a few $$.

Not wanting to wish life away, but December could be biggest month ever for cinema with Avatar AND Aquaman sequels.

Belfast like other award nominated or even winners may well be "good" films and get some rave reviews.
However this and other such are not going to make $000's millions.

Box office so far of $7m in US I believe.
I may well go and watch it again when out full UK release as enjoyed it personally.

Yes Mooky mentioned US listing in so much as it was one of a list of ways to possibly add value at some point which in itself has created countless unfounded threads even before a (most likely) non related RNS on Friday past

Cruis, I can recommend it as saw on unlimited screening. Most enjoyable. We want back to something like that plus another 3 or 4 films released every week in UK cinemas though.

Agree, hopefully as this year unfolds and few others make big box office we will start to see more releases on ever more regular (weekly) basis.

As I say environmental issues are a hot subject worldwide, so I am not grasping what makes this particular RNS and previously noted (one of a number of future POSSIBILITIES for raising more funds).

Environmental issues are worldwide and something companies in nations all over the world are investing in.

If someone can detail in layman's terms why this committee = US listing I would be grateful. Thanks in advance.

January box office in North America currently only running at c. 55% anyway.
We still have a chunk of change to pay Regal dissenting shareholders and as much as I welcome the likely positive Q4 for 2021, it is the only one we have had during pandemic and month one and two of Q1 current year isn't exactly stacked with box office mega movies.

One company has been awarded Can$1.24bn, the other ordered to pay that sum.
Let's be honest with ourselves and stop making out we are holding all the Aces.

If I was CP I can assure you I would be in no hurry whatsoever to accept a far reduced earlier settlement sum. I might be in the market if you were coming to me offering immediate parent of 80/9% of award, but don't imagine for one moment I would or CP will be interested in a tiny fraction.

Time will tell if an out of court deal is done in next few weeks or if we go through an appeals process

I see very little reason for CP to remotely consider a deal at this stage.
Prior to and during original court case we had some of this talk too.
CP were claiming C$bn(s) , CW small $mn's
where was the appeal in a deal for CP given those odds?
Even more so now they have actually been awarded C$1.24bn what's the gain for them?
There is none!!
Cashflow may well be an issue for them short term, it's not as if CW don't have our own cash issues.

If it's deemed CW can of required get further financing then why could t CP!?

We will be going through an appeals process of that I have very little doubt (few things are ever 100% guaranteed I grant you, but I would be Ra her stunned at a deal without us entering this next stage).
