If we get back to March SP then we have had about 40 years worth of good dividends equivalent just from recovery in SP.
I don't get the fixation on dividends for some in a share price such as this at this point in time.
If/when we get to a much higher and stable share price then few years down line I will start looking at dividend rates.

FY results!? We know when they are scheduled and have an idea of what to expect from year to end December 2021 (we dont know any possible "additional news to be included in them).

A quick resolution of some form on the CP case in the courts or otherwise?

If for example The Batman does $1bn +?

Something of material sums from case against insurers?

Debt waivers and improved renegotiated lending?

US listing confirmation and timescales?

New substantial revenue streams announced?

Development in pharmaceutical that means no more serious risks from not only COVID but any potential future viruses?

The purchase of Cineworld at $100 per share by the invisible Man?

Yes RS2002, However that's exactly it isn't it.
There were/are still issues and bottom line is Company/industry is behind where wanted to be at this point on time.
All setbacks considered January was about as good as could expect, it's just that the company wanted by this stage to not be having major movies moved, studios not releasing as much content and some COVID issues still ongoing.

Still hopeful for Q by Q being ok though maybe for a bit yet behind company's hoped for recovery rates/percentages.
So long as enough to survive and buy time.

I think it would be a fool that would predict box office for the year ahead with any claim to it being based on anything solid.
We just do not yet have enough data to give us a basis for forecasting.

I do not think COVID is now likely to cause any issues of real note to cinema and other businesses.
With the big movies we have and 11 months to start accumulating back up depth then I don't think it completely unreasonable to make a case for a pretty strong recovery to box office in the region of the last couple years prior to COVID.
At this time I still think it won't be 100% recovered, BUT it's near impossible to say.
When we have the big films lined up that we do a take range of say $500m worldwide to say $1.5bn possible for a few of these that's a very wide margin we and the industry just do not KNOW yet where they will fall.
Outcomes of all legal stuff is my main concern/focus regards Cineworld to be honest.
I feel the industry will get back to satisfactory trading levels in time. They also do not need to stand still as a business and can look to add/improve revenue streams.
For example one of the links I shared last night. Making more of the space Cinemas have selling more food, alcohol longer opening hours, showing content other than movies.....

RS, As you yourself !among others) have rightly pointed out the main driver for Cineworld is US market.
Also how do you see 63% in such a positive loggtt when Cineworld themselves were after 90% on a steady consistent basis by end last year.

I have said one month in isolation does not matter so much, but we can't say it is "encouraging" to be at that level AND caveating it with note of the lack of movies doesn't make us suddenly have these extra movies.
I hope after some further big movie successes we will see more depth, but hard facts are the industry does not yet have them and can't guarantee them.
We need more from what we have.
63% (UK) is not good news. US is even worse.

FOR JANUARY.
I expect we will see better in months ahead as I have stated before, but let's not spin poor data.
As with the ongoing Cineplex court dealings there is not the option clearly to pay a few million termination fee.

I am VERY happy to see it as glimmer of hope.
It is no more than that at this time though.
It's also what we basically already know so I don't expect £ SP off back of this tomorrow.

The point is we have a share price that has for few weeks now known Cineworld has recorded a last quarter that was cashflow positive.
Market also knows what the previous month's were like and January has also been awful.
If it was only trading then, yes we have signs of recovery and future big movie slate looks good.

As you rightly state though it is many factors making the share price and number of them continue to be as yet uncertain and it seems each time one looks like being more certain we get another negative and then the initial problem also raises its head again.
Think back 18months to c.June 2020 after first lock downs were coming to end, economy opening up and hope raised us to c. £1, then we have had Vaccines lift to be later deflated by different strains of COVID and further lockdowns.
Regal dissenting shareholders money.
Cineplex fiasco.
Bond box office lift to be lost by other news and clarity there is not as yet enough releases.
Spiderman massive box office followed by an empty January.

So, yes it's good to have further confirmation from AMC that as Cineworld announced Q4 was nearing what we were targeting for recovery.
There is bigger factors for now though.
AMC also have access to rather more $'s

I won't be having a party tonight based solely on this AMC update.

Recovery we know off, one quarter of positive cashflow similar to what Cineworld have already told us.
Plenty work required yet, if you don't believe me check out share price.
