Just to highlight anything below 0.5% doesn't show as current short position.
That does NOT mean for example today that shirts have reduced by 1% , not does it mean any fund is not necessarily still holding a short position.
Realise this may be difficult for some to grasp ;-)

Yes that would be the case. Below 0.5% are not recorded.
There are other shorts still in the company below that level so appears at times we have less than reality.
I and some others use the short tracker website.
There you can spend a little time and see how some funds have moved up and down over various periods.
Let's see in fullness of time if Highbridge have indeed reduced that much.

In the last day or 2 trading has there been volume for one company to buy 1% of shares!?

As has been discussed historically also sometimes it appears a big change in short positions when infact it might be a couple funds going from 0.5% to 0.49% looks like 1% drop, it's only 0.02%
Has happened in both directions number of times.
Also as Sammy notes and I have covered several times before chunk of the shorts have been here since pre-pandemic so no panic or hurry required by them.
Let the comparison with AMC go and hopes for a rocket by shorts running for the door.

One of the cinemas smallest screens and that made it clearer how current restrictions impact business.
3 seats between parties and a blank row between also. (Scotland, it's 2 empty seats rest of UK).
Thankfully USA is majority of business and there and hopefully here the restrictions are/will ease at pace.
14 in tonight which I view as decent for Thursday evening small screen shown movie that probably sits in the "average film" category.
Less concessions per head for this one tonight I would say.

Tomorrow is my first Unlimited card screening since return (got another 5 booked over month coming).
These are usually in the most part well attended so be interesting.

AMC is worse than cryptocurrency in its trading recently.
Nothing in the companies fundamentals warrant anything like rises we have seen.
Do not forget there has been and will be large falls also.
Yes it can be frustrating seeing other shares soar or rise faster than the investments we have selected (maybe more so when in same sector).
Be honest with ourselves though there will no doubt be ones we considered that have not done as well.
Fundementals long-term tend to prevail.
Happy with Cineworld SP and where fundementals can/will take it all in good time.

Look back and see those AMC drops the next time you feel you have missed out.
Heck I was hovering over the buy button at $2 having watched it for a bit and had decent input on these boards from NOFEAR.
I hadn't set myself up to trade non UK stocks, I missed it, it's gone.

FACT my position on Cineworld doing well as it returns to a fully operational business in time again has NEVER moved.
I attempt to post a rounded view rather than yourself or BS2020 for example as I find that more value than ramping or deramping.

My point was they can be argued (reasonably) to expect less than the one you yourself quote for example and as yet they are an unknown.
That is a fact.
Future of till receipts along with SP are not FACTS.
They are opinions, some with more substance than others.
I still say today is not the last day to get "on the Cineworld share train"
