I'm not optimistic about the summer. I thought the summer was when people forget about their weight. After the summer people get a bit of a drive because they want to look better next year, and late winter, spring people start to try and look good for this year.

Not sure how that works in a country that has permanent heat though.

There was a holdings RNS from them that showed them selling last year. I remember the discussion at the time suggested it was unusual for them to be invested in someone for so long given that their remit is to provide seed money for Yorkshire startups and we were way past what could be considered a start up

I actually intensely dislike the leadership of this company now. I've never felt that way about a company I've had an interest in before or any company.

It's not the depreciation of my investment, I've lost much more money before on a range of companies. It's the relentless underhand and duplicitous management probably bordering on something worse which I won't go as far as saying because I don't fancy an expensive court case.

If these sales are really down to Seed and nothing else, then the current leadership deserved no praise.

I'd also love to see how it cost so much to put on the EGM.

Normally I'd tell someone to sell but because they refuse to move to a liquid market that would enable some trade, I would be massively out of pocket and I just won't do it. And we all know why they won't move to a more liquid market, because that might mean that any of their friends wanting to buy in will have to pay an actual market price.

In terms of share price, I wonder where Yorkshire Seed are with their divestment, they must be selling into any buying pressure.

steen doesn’t give two excrements for shareholders and i have no doubt he will be more than happy reverting to his no-news, share price suppression tactics in order to try and shaft us again.

i’m long past tw and his pumping. also, as has been pointed out, either he’s bull****ting as usual or he knows something and soh is heading for a custodial sentence. for all soh’s faults, i don’t think he would engage in that so i’m going with tw spinning a yarn.

that being said, i suspect he’s trying to oversell an educated guess. if sweet does come to something this year, he can justify more subscription fees. if it doesn’t, he can just blame big companies for being slow to sign up.

Haven't been near ADVFN for years due to it only being 1 poster with multiple user names arguing with himself. I remember years ago there being talk of a new closed group but wasn't that active on forums at the time and wasn't even registered with any.

I sympathise but I agree with Lords, none of this is new. We've signed so many of these agreements and been promised so much. I'm the absence of the recent stock option award, I would say there's no real need to mention it, but to be fair to Mol, I think there's every reason to mention it given the timing of his windfall. Opti and SOH would have been better placed awarding those options after some sales success IMO.

Over 6% of the company with little incentive to do well in order to earn them. What a joke. The share price should have to hit a pound in order for him to exercise them. Where's the incentive structure here

That being said, it is boring if you have the attention span on a gnat and dislike good, detailed research provided for free. Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Just out of interest, is there a way you can supplement the interview with a question to SOH about whether he plans to say the exact same thing about Sweet at the end of next year…..again.

No interview with him is worth listening to unless it rigorously challenges him on all the failed promises of the past including most recently, the Sweet timeline. That’s why a comparison with the FT is erroneous. The link here feels a little too cosy and chummy. I’d certainly pay to hear him challenged on claims he’s made in the past though but as we know, SOH wouldn’t go anywhere near someone who would actually do that.

As for bringing religion into this, I don’t think that helps anyone.

Awhawh, you remedied it well in time for someone not very smart like me to spot it. Definitely made more embarrassing mistakes than that on here plenty of times.

Actually good to see the news around the launch, and any costs related need funding. Much rather this option than more equity being issued.

That being said, I've been restraining myself from posting this week as the atmosphere has been optimistic and I'm a little more sceptical. Hope has become to rear it's smiling face again though.

On the subject of P2, I rarely use this board but there's been an unrealistic view of the timescale of getting this to market since I first invested. I've had people here telling me that they won't even need P2 or P3. I'm not even sure if that's technically correct but if it is, it's probably as rare as rocking horse excrement.

There's probably a good treatment here but anyone expecting logic from the market between now and the time it comes to market (if it does), is barking up the wrong tree. This would also be the case if this was listed on the NASDAQ as I think it should be.

In my experience, these stocks can be transformative but are best held long term in small % of your overall allocations. They're a massive risk/reward. Best put a little bit in and forget about it. If it comes good it'll be a nice little treat, if it doesn't, so be it.

That's all true but those two 'ifs' are huge and have been tested by time already and were found wanting.

As for TW and Elrico not getting their own private information before the market, good, it's about time SOH stopped drip feeding news to favourites.

I wouldn't worry, this is basically a punt. Either Sweet will take off and we'll do well or it won't and the company will be lucky to survive.

It is a nice buzz when it's up a decent % but I suspect most of us are here for the game-changer now.

At the moment, Ozempic is very expensive and shouldn't in theory be a huge competitor especially in developing markets. That being said, Slim was around for a long while before Ozempic and did a great job of underachieving all on its own.

At the moment, I can understand the optimistic view which states that, because if the success of Ozempic, consumers might be more inclined to have faith in other products that have demonstrated good outcomes. You would hope we could ride the wave of their success.

Ozempic et al will only be getting cheaper though and I think that there are a huge amount of people who would happily choose an injection every week over a disciplined meal plan which Slim requires. Let's face it, the obese aren't in that state in the first place because they were good at shoveling the right stuff down their gullet (I speak from experience here). My unfinished boxes of Slim in the cupboard can attest to that.

It's a horribly worded RNS and doesn't say that Pepsi is in talks over using Sweet.

It's almost as if you are supposed to infer it, but there is ample room for deniability that that's the message because it says, 'like sweetbiotix'.

Time will tell and nobody hopes I'm wrong more than me. If an RNS is imminent saying we are now selling Sweetbiotix in decent numbers as an ingredient in household, global brands, Ill be doing cartwheels. Like many of us though, I've been here before with sharp rises based on rumours from a paid subscriber service

Asking for something to be investigated is not the same as alleging it happened.

In theory, if someone bought a lot of stock in something, then spread positive rumours about that company and then dumped into the following pump, that would be worth investigating. I don’t know if that’s happened here but I do know that over the years, several pumps have happened as a result of a person spreading positive rumours. I would like that to be investigated, but I wouldn’t know if there’s anything to it until that investigation is done.
