Agreed, disappointing to say the least.

Yesterday US market closed and average 2.5% up, Asian markets up 3.00% and European markets barely cracking the 1.00%, yet FTSE not even making 0.5% gain.
Pants, all of it.

We just need that idiot in the White House to drop the testing requirements and people will book to fly on both sides of the Atlantic. Testing is the number one reason cited for lack of international flights to and from the US.

So to be clear, it is not just BA that have cancelled flights. So many flights were cancelled globally you have no idea. All due to sniffles from staff. People we know had their flights cancelled from Argentina twice within 24 hours, another from Brazil had theirs cancelled last minute for two days.

This is not just a BA phenomena, it is all travel. A mild cold, now being given a name is responsible. And let's face it, people on a fixed salary, will happily take a few days off with pay and not blink an eye about personal responsibility or ethics.

Oil, I don't think we should look at the US market, it is in it's own bubble. For example, I have in-laws that live there, the mother and father in-law have taken flights within the US borders 15 times since October 2020, and two international flights, I have flown zero times in that time! I drive but have yet to fly anywhere.
My point, the US internal flight market is vast, people can go on vacation without taking their passports, a lot do not even own one.
Then there is that BS about testing that the Biden admin will just not let go of, even the US travel industry have been pleading for them to remove that, we are still waiting.
IAG an BA rely on international markets, which is not co-ordinated in the least.

While I am heavily invested and took a massive loss last year, I am positive so far but have a lot to make up.
I have to agree with Oil. IAG are lagging this year, something is just not kosher, either the city know something and so are keeping this down or it will break out and head up.
Either way, I am now resigned to the fact that I have to stick this out for at least this year, maybe even into next.
We cannot keep ramping an sp when we can all clearly see it is not rising.

China is driving this at the moment, zero covid rules is utter BS but they still try to do it.

I saw that, the Fed looks to be increasing interest rates every month, so why the markets reacts as if they were blind-sided is beyond me. They said they would increase 7 times this year.
I am now thoroughly exhausted by the stock market. Seems like anything UK based is having a crappy time.
