Jtan, i could not tell you. Look at the low trading volumes, it makes no sense. This system is rigged. Also, BA not conceding to return of pay of the 10% is probably not helping.

Share price of a company has no effect on the company's day-to-day operations. They are still making money.

Jtan, walk away, have a coffee and something to eat. It will still be here when you come back. Not worth stressing over it unless you need to get your money out quickly.

Every male form 18-32 must serve in the Swiss armed forces, Navy too. Then two weeks training every year until 35. One of the largest militia in the world. They also take home their service weapon, but no live rounds.
I could walk into my local gun shop and buy a fully automatic assault weapon, but not before I get the local council's ok, they then pass it to the county office, they do a background check, if approved they forward it to the Fed government Police, for an even more thorough international background check and a psychology test, IF I pass, they want me to have a safe installed at home with random Police checks on the safe or kept at the range.
By this time I would be so exhausted by the whole process I would not bother.

I have a friend (oh yes I do!) who used to work for BA (I would go over to Waterside once or twice per month and have lunch at the heavily subsidised canteen). He was made redundant @2015/16 but got out with a final salary pension. BA paid off a lot of 'higher paid' staff way back then.

Long haul flight attendants were on fantastic pay with lots of time off in the late 90's early 2000's, pretty sure that stopped too.
The race to the bottom has invaded all parts of the employment circle, the pay gap is increasing and people are just getting more stressed. I wonder if in Europe we had the US gun culture, how many people would have 'gone postal' in the last two years?
I do get that management view strikes akin to terrorism tactics and hostage taking, but until they do these pay increases and better wages voluntarily, things will always remain the same.

slowandsteady, whilst I don't disagree that Putin needs to be stopped, it's too little too late in terms of military aid. From November last year they had intel that things were moving, yet NATO and the US just watched.
Also, paying more for oil, does not guarantee no war.
OPEC is gouging, simple as that. There is no shortage, oil that used to come to the west is being sent to the east, oil that used to be sent east is no longer being bought as they are getting cheap oil from Russia.

Maybe the rapid rise will cause a little destabilisation, but everything, consumer goods and services has increased by large double digit percentages. There is something very 'off' about this all. I know the US just pumped money through QE since 2020 but now to take it away to calm inflation seems, again, odd.
The conspiracy theorist in me says perhaps in the last two years, middle classes have become better off and so that would just not do, lets take it away from them.
