EC, it's not retail investors that are not investing, it's ii that are pulling money out and hold on to it, keeping it liquid. This shows the markets are not confident about central banks decisions and worried about the 'flip flopping' that goes along with that. If the FED and other central banks laid out a 6 month plan of rate rises and stick to it, the markets may become stronger, but that will never happen. So they operate is a very small sphere and and not what I call calm.
Perhaps they lost a bundle last time the world shut down and now just too jittery.

The mass expansion of the US is the trigger for a lot of what is happening and what is to come. Oh, yes, there will be a lot more to come, it will hit us first, the US will be very well insulated from outside, they will use Europa as a shield on this side and Korea, Japan Malaysia and Philippines on the other side.
There will never be peace until there is compromise and no one compromises until they are losing.

EC, to answer your question, depends which propaganda machine you wish to believe. Our media constantly lies to us, their media does the same.
The only time the war will end is when there is meaningful dialogue and one party is on the brink of total loss of support and weaponry.
The US and the west is propping up Ukraine and so the war will continue, Russia has leader hell bent on completing his end game, money is not really an issue as they continue to sell oil to China and India, they get weapons from Iran, NK and most likely China.
This will end when the ambitions of one side are completed.
Meanwhile, Europe suffers with an imminent recession and poverty. The support from Europe may collapse under the weight of the voters having enough.

As Lloyds said, interest rate rises are expected, so is the one the FED is planning this month of about 0.75%. And yet, the market knee-jerks.
