RE: ISA10 Oct 2017 13:28
I dont hold HNL in an ISA or SIPP wrapper, but am following the thread here with interest.
I guess this is why the RNS advised taking professional advice on the tax implications!
Is there perhaps a quasi- or limbo status (like an in transit passenger staying airside within an airport) for shares like HNL? Ie, shares which qualify for ISA, get put in one, then lose the qualification on de-listing, but regain qualification on re-listing, such that they dont lose ISA status until say at least its clear whether theyll re-list? If HNL has lost its ISA status, does that mean its effectively been withdrawn from the ISA, such that youd have to put them back in on re-listing, using (crucially) any remaining or a future years entitlement? Generally an ISA allowance is use it or lose it each year, and assets lose ISA status for good on withdrawal. That would be a real bummer.
Any accountants/lawyers/clever person out there know?
SIPPs would have issues too.
