I know one or two folks dwell on the CFO position. Tony Gardiner is greatly missed - he left a huge void which, fortunately, was filled within seconds of his departure. His ability to mess up the share placing and his lack of basic maths when doing RNS’s certainly made us smile. Anyway, we are at least saving the cost of his salary while we wait.

I seem to remember an earlier reference to a comment made by the company, mid year, saying “ judge us in another 6 months time”. That time period would take us up to the end of 2024 approximately. My memory a bit hazy admittedly!

Anybody who has seen or attended an auction will be familiar with the auctioneer suggesting an opening bid , then see attendees sitting on their hands as the price gets lowered. Eventually a bid is made, usually followed by others joining in. Clearly the level of interest determines where the sale price ends up but quite often it is a good bit higher than the suggested opening bid. Market forces!

The chance of the board recommending a low ball offer is, in my opinion, virtually zero. They “know what they’ve got” and so will others!

The main things I took away re Pepas.

2. Brad kept stressing the beauty of a high grade deposit from surface meant low cost open pit mining. That means high profit margin.

For those who don’t trust the management, have doubts about the science, say they have “no idea what’s going on” and have concerns about funding then my question would be why on earth are you posting here? Why would you risk investing or trading in such a company?

It’s a bit like complaining about the food, service and prices in a restaurant but going back time after time despite all your disappointments! Why would anybody in their right mind do that?

Touk. Point 4 of your post struck a chord with me. It is said that IBM’s biggest mistake was the souring of their business partnership with the young Bill Gates and Microsoft. A real lost opportunity.

I think communications have improved so much over the years that big Pharma will know a lot about little old Avacta. The more time goes on , hopefully the better the data becomes and I feel it inevitable a significant deal will be done.

I totally understand the need to be prudent in deal making but I feel it likely a tipping point will be reached when big Pharma will be compelled to act. Newcomer or not.

I think there may be some confusion about ARM. I was referring to the days in the 1990’s up to around 2000 when there was a tech crash. Their share price went to the moon and many people, including staff, became millionaires.

It ended up being bought out by SoftBank in 2016 for £23 billion. Since then it has done well but I was referring to the earlier years.

AvctIP - many similarities to the ARM holdings business model, as has been commented on in the past.

That all worked out pretty well for them. A lot to look forward to in the second half of this month.
