RE: Just sold at £5.58618 Mar 2026 19:20
You've lost me fox: here's the math's in more detail:
I actually built my BP holding in two tranches, with the resulting holding being 24,059 at an average price paid per share of £3.906806, so my investment before todays sale cost me 24,059 x 3.906806 = £93,994
Today I sold 17,000 shares at £5.586 and 17,000 x 5.586 = £94,962
£94,962 - £93,994 = £968 (Ok not quite £1000, but close)
I'm still holding 7,059 shares valued against the floating share price, so at today's closing price of £5.558 my remaining BP holding is valued at 7,059 x 5.558 = £39,233.922
Bear in mind I've had all of my initial investment returned plus an extra £968, so my current overall profit based on today's closing price is £39,233.922 + £968 = £40,201.922
Hope that makes sense and I haven't made any silly mistakes.
