Hi Glide, There are emergency procedures in place for all types of offshore drilling rig to deal with inclement weather. But can you imagine drilling a 36" hole in the seabed a few hundred/thousand feet deep plus as much as that in sea depth, pulling out of hole(POH), tiddling off to the GOM then coming back to look for the hole.
Anyway our licences are nearer Cuba than the Bahamas are they not.
