Sorry if any information on this subject has been posted and i have missed it but this is BPC's response to my recent query.

Thank you for your recent email query regarding the term of the Company’s exploration licences.
Our exploration licences contain specific provisions for force majeure (FM) events which allow for the term of the licences and all obligations therein to be extended commensurate with the period of any such FM event. At the same time as we announced the delay of Perseverance 1 to the capital markets, we also notified the Government of the Bahamas that we were declaring a FM event under the licence terms such that we will automatically be entitled to an extension to the current licence term beyond 31 December 2020 pro rata with the period of delay that we have suffered arising from the Covid 19 global pandemic.

If the BG had realised their vulnerability a few years ago and not messed BPC around as they did then it is quite possible they would have had another string to their bow. The chickens have come home to roost.

PI, in a way i can understand your frustration because i feel that a RNS from BPC giving us a sprat of a positive update would help at this point.
As far as China is concerned my information on the positiveness over there comes from family living in the south where they are back to work and walking the streets and from the north and friends where we have our house in the north east. Having sad this there are still some areas affected.

PI, not quite sure why you need to make comments like your second paragraph at a time like this. I am sure there would be a reasonable debate between BG and BPC. regarding extensions. I am not sure it will come to that however.
Large parts of China are now back to normal without a vaccine available.

We have had loads of extensions just lately but they have PM in front of them and most time the rot gets rottener.

Keith, the reason i vote for stockmarket closure is that we can deal with a share generally on information we receive from the company and the research we do. The virus has put a total unknown in the room that even the best of us cannot calculate the outcome. Until that unknown is removed we are generally all at sea. When the SP reached 5.4p LTH's had no real reason to sell. Day traders yes, even shorters can probably not believe their luck.

Stock markets should have been closed a couple of weeks ago then most would have been in a better place!!

As far as rig rates go you don't get long term deals on short term problems.
I know very well the logistics surrounding rig operations, i was part of it for forty years.
It would be interesting to see just how supplies and operations are doing worldwide at this time.
