to continue... PI may not go ahead if this johnny come lately merger succeed is totally daft, The idea of a merger at this time seems to me to be born out of frustrated BOD's twiddling their fingers and finding something to do in the mean time.
As I read what information is available on the subject at this time it seems to me that this merger is not necessary unless our BOD is not fully confident of drilling a commercially viable well and CERP may soften the blow of P1 being a duster.
Pre CV19 we were on top of the cliff ready to dive not knowing what will happen when we hit the water. Post CV19 someone comes along and offers a life preserver all be it only a pair of water wings, a costly pair of water wings.
Hope the analogy is suitable

Before CV19 we were ready to drill P1in April and if the virus had not intervened we would now all be studying the results but we would have drilled. Up until then I suggest most BOP investors like me had never heard of CERP. So to read the posts of some individuals on here that

CC you sound like the Bahamas gov. will blame BPC for the hold ups when in fact they are the ones who have dragged their feet, If they had committed themselves to oil exploration many years ago when the 3d results were in there is a good chance, and I am being totally optimistic here, that we could have been in production on our third or fourth well.
If this virus continues to affect the oil industry then it could be that we will wait much longer than December, God forbid.
I do not know what your experience is in the oil industry but as you may or may not know there are many, many facets making up the logistical success of punching a hole in the ground and until all of them come together, virus allowing, it will take as long as it takes and there is nothing the Bahamas government can do about it

StarChild, seeing as you have a foot in both camps I thought I would post here my response to you on BPC.

Starchild, your post, to me, shows you have as much a vested interest as any poster advocating a NO vote otherwise you would be just like me who has been here since 2010 and cast my vote without trying to influence others. If you are totally independent then you only know about what is going on behind the scenes as much as anyone else. Your extract;

How the dickens do you know they "would love to do so" unless you know more than you are letting on,
Your post reminds me of an interview, the BBC I think it was, with Roy Jenkins in the run up to the vote on whether we should join the EEC. He was almost blubbering because at that time it looked like it would be a NO vote. As it was and to my disappointment it was yes. When the dust settled I do believe he was one of the UK's first commissioners,
I firmly believe we should vote on the basis we have been able to glean from the information the respective boards have put out and if it goes against their wishes they have only themselves to blame.

By the way, you and Coffee seem to have doubts that the P1 drill will not go ahead if the merger fails or that the merger will assure that the drill WILL go ahead. Elucidate please.

As far as financial stability is concerned, when I started working in Saudi forty years ago I was working with oilies from Texas and Oklahoma who were producing more than CERP from a nodding donkey in their back yard.

CC, when I read your post intimating that the Bahamas governments patience with BPC was getting thin I nearly fell over the back of my chair laughing. If you really have been in touch with BPC for as long as you say then you will know of the shenanigans both parties have got up to over the years egged on with the religious sector(no thoughts about the downtrodden from these people or the NIMBYS) then you would see how ridiculous you statement is. The catastrophic damage caused by the typhoon and the effects of CV19 is what has made them sit up and realise that the

Razorman, just to inform you that BPC has the availability of cash to drill P1 without going elsewhere.

bryn, you do not need to be an oilie as you call it to sort this one out. We know the sequence of events from the exploration side, should CV19 allow it, that interest BPC shareholders.
It is weather the merger with CERP is an advantageous move and that is more of a mathematical and logical consideration now and if you can work that out then only time will tell whether shareholders in both companies made the right decision.

Once I have digested the 108 pages put out by CERP I will eagerly await BPC's offering before I make up my mind.

Being beholding to the Bahamas political and religious classes and the NIMBY's for the last ten years has been a sword in the side of BPC.

There is an old oil field saying "If it ain't broke then don't fix it", not always true but in my opinion, so far it applies to this merger. As a very LTH I have yet to be convinced by either of the BOD's that the merger is a good one, so lets leave it, for now.

I agree with you Cher, big time but the market seems unimpressed
