His Excellency the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro, held a courtesy meeting with Her Excellency Mrs. Wang Wenli, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Timor-Leste, along with her team from the Embassy.

During the meeting, Minister Monteiro and Ambassador Wang discussed potential collaborations in the oil, gas, and mining sectors. This marked the first meeting between the Minister and the Ambassador, leading to positive and fruitful discussions.

Ambassador Wang provided updates on the ongoing projects supported by the Chinese government in Timor-Leste and expressed particular interest in the development of the petroleum and mining sectors, both onshore and offshore.

Minister Monteiro expressed his gratitude for China's continuous support and emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two nations. He discussed the ongoing development in Timor-Leste's petroleum and mining sectors and the country's commitment to advancing these industries with the support and collaboration of international partners like China. The Minister also highlighted the strategic importance of bringing the pipeline to Timor-Leste's shores, which will play a crucial role in the country's economic development.

Last October I flew to the UK and joined the Valaris 247 to prepare her for a journey across the Indian Ocean to Australia. It's been a journey to remember. A lot of hard work from everyone involved, lots of great people, lots of challenges in which were overcome and a lot of achievements to be proud of. As we approach the shores of the Nothern Territory (NT) im looking forward reaching land and spending some time with my family before returning to operations with INPEX. Its been a great experience and I'm proud to be a part of the Valaris 247 team.

Malaysia, June 25, 2024 The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEK), Bendito dos Santos Freitas, accompanied by the designated Timor-Leste Ambassador to Malaysia, Lisualdo Gaspar, and a delegation, visited the state-owned company

Petronas Exploration to hear about the development of mining and gas exploration projects in the ocean and maritime territories. Petronas Exploration is a state institution in the area of petroleum that has existed for 50 years, from 1974 until today, and has produced well for mining and gas offshore and onshore in good agreement with world markets. The company also received political support from their government.

Minister Bendito emphasized that Malaysia, through the state-owned Petronas company, also demonstrated its willingness to invite the Timor-Leste Minister of Petroleum, Resources, and Minerals to visit them to increase their knowledge regarding the petroleum industry itself.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and TIMOR GAP, E.P. are focused on the development of the Greater Sunrise field, the implementation of bringing the development to Timor-Leste, and the planning of infrastructures to support the Tasi Mane project.

This priority program is included in the TIMOR GAP, E.P. Activity Plan, which was presented to the Council of Ministers today by His Excellency the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro, and the President and CEO of TIMOR GAP, E.P., Mr. Rui Maria Alves Soares.

The government and the state-owned company are committed to institutional strengthening, human resources development, and the establishment of strategic partnerships to realize this strategic program.

During the meeting, His Excellency Minister Francisco da Costa Monteiro and CEO Rui Soares also presented potential onshore and offshore blocks.

Good point. I noted that from yesterday’s talk. Starting from scratch this is a project in excess of 100 million dollars. Sunda got most of it for free. The stars are aligning as we progress towards the appraisal well. Its looking more than good.

There are very few companies out there where you can say, 100%, this project will be delivered with no further dilution. A very attractive proposition all round.
