'Mainly because there ie pressurised oil in the fracture, of a balances/bit lower to that weight of the mud column' question: when they start to flow oil out of the well and there is a mud column that must be lifted, do they lower the weight of the mud by diluting it in some way - or do they stop overbalancing the well near to target depth, allowing the oil pressure to increase so lifting the mud ahead of the oil? or does this just happen as mud fluid escapes a bit more into the reservoir over time after they stop overbalancing?

thanks ADUK! that's the sort of info re. 'what they are/might be doing with the supply ships' I was looking for (including which quay the mud gets loaded from!) :-)

Rem Trader attending TOL at present.....will be interested in how soon it makes a second contact / when it returns to Aberdeen. At present there are two supply ships loading up in Aberdeen, Troms Capella and Grampian Sovereign are next to one another. If we need a serious amount of mud they may both head out / one be on standby to head out to TOL. The previous visit by Troms Capella offloaded half it's cargo then the other half within 24 hrs then headed home.

has just left Aberdeen.....can't confirm destination yet as info not showing on marinetraffic, would be interesting to see if TOL is destination. Shipwatchers with better info access could help? would it be normal to have two supply ships providing mud/brine?
