I personally see this as a positive. It finally looks like Covid HTCs are going ahead. Offord might be running this one (with ORPH's challenge agent - and potentially trial and recruitment support too) but ORPH remains the only commercial option currently. There is going to be a lot of pharmas wanting to test products against covid... I'm hoping to see ORPH contract RNSs soon (soon being somewhat flexible, obviously ;-)

From memory, CF has said a few times that he is reluctant to RNS/announce the ethical approvals process.
Also, if i had to speculate, this is an Oxford/Welcome trial and ORPH is supplying the challenge agent (and possibly trial and recruitment support). So possibly no RNS for a bit, or at all.
The great news here is that a full Covid challenge trial has the go ahead (albeit with already infected and recovered subjects). I see this as huge news! It has been a long, long wait but it seems as though we'll finally get the Covid HCS.

Promoting a 'best in class' Covid test, in the same way he promoted a 'best in class' mask at RMS, is a lot harder if the serious phase of the pandemic is over.
Yes, the test has other uses... but they won't attract the same level of interest as a covid play.

TBH, 16million shares traded isn't a huge amount. I'm not sure there were any MM shenanigans today...
It could be :
PIs selling some / all before any share consolidation vote (thinking they can buy back lower)
PIs thinking they can buy back in closer to the CTA and not wanting money tied up
Covid speculators deciding that the pandemic 'might' be easing off with Omicron and not up for the medium/long haul of clinical trials

Personally I'm just seeing this as a normal day on aim in the absence of news.

I think potnak is being realistic. From the final results (RNS)
"Exploratory Clinical Trial Application ("CTA") now expected to be filed mid-2022 owing to the additional time needed to manufacture capsule drug product, and subject to successful completion of final toxicity and safety studies"
The actual phase 1 trial might not start till the end of 2022 / start of 2023.
Also, the use of the word 'exploratory' is important. This usually indicates a very small scale trial prior to the main Phase 1 trial.
As I have suggested before... we are likely looking to Sierra for the first significant progress.

1. The UK tests considerably more than most European countries
2. Many more people are taking lateral flow tests before seeing friends and family over the holidays
3. There is a huge amount of covid cases currently

If anything, 180,000 is only part of the true number - especially as omicron is milder and many more will be asymptomatic and not testing. On the plus side, this should mean this wave is over soon...

I welcome opposing views and considered criticism. I think most of the regular posters here do as well...
However, some of the posters that moniman has highlighted go way beyond this. In 18 months of LSE I have only filtered 5 users - and 3 of them are on moniman's list. They have consistently posted lies and misinformation and have done so multiple times over multiple threads (and sometimes even multiple boards).
Any legitimate points they make are lost in the continuous bile. Their agenda (and in one case, potential mental health issues) are obvious.

I doubt CF would have included anything requiring Government sign off in the pre Christmas news (twice bitten, third time definitely shy). We have had two cracking contract wins and positive AGS-v PLUS results. I'm taking that as the 3 pieces of news... There may well me something else (there is a lot going on behind the scenes I believe) but I'm not counting on anything else arriving this week.
A £5million+ contract, a £10million+ contract and the advancement of a universal mosquito borne disease vaccine is pretty stella to be fair :-)

The previous placings were for a premium above the current share price - this is below.
I'm not sure the market is going to see this as positively as some on this board...

"we expect the finalised reports in the first quarter of 2022"
( so potentially the end of March?)

Final results (RNS published October 25th)
"we expect to complete the toxicology studies required for this phase of the preclinical programme for SDC-1801 by the end of 2021"
Semantics like that are annoying. Hey, lets wait a few minutes and see how the market reacts (I might be proven very wrong and would be happy to be so)

Hmm... The can is kicked a bit further down the road. All very positive sounding, but essentially more delay. It will be interesting to see how the larger market reacts (it gets a little bit too 'fan-club' on this board sometimes).
And before I get any de-ramper comments - I'm not selling any shares, I still think this is a good place to be, just frustrating.
(and no, a positive comment about being "confident that the studies have met their objectives" in relation to the Tox results is not the same as the actual report)
