PJM, the same RNS from 29th September suggests that all 3 will be deployed within 6 months.... '....the three aircraft are to be deployed over the next six months in South Africa, Tanzania and/or Mozambique....' So given that they have yet to appear anywhere in Africa the early part of 2018 may be quite interesting! Happy New Year all.

PJM, in my opinion it always would've been an 'after event' as you put it, and to expect otherwise was unrealistic. Given the shambles Tanzania seems to have been lately, though conversely we (folks on here) seem to believe that both Zimbabwe and Mozambique have been progressing well, and that there are a number of other 'issues' outstanding (eg South Africa via Federal Air, LUN-HRE routing, the ERJ145 for Tanzania, any other route expansions) I would hope that news / an update will indeed be forthcoming early in the New Year (though I can't say I'm holding my breath as Nico & Co are possibly even less communicative than Ed and his Merry Band were). To you, and all other FJETers, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Which country is being difficult Zambia or Zimbabwe? My guess is Zambia given that Zimbabwe has just given RW a bunch of 5th Freedoms into South Africa....

My point, which seems to be being missed, is stop viewing things fastjet with western eyes, Africa is different and so how things are done may well be appropriate to that market even if they appear odd / backward / not very good to us (based upon our local LCC experience). That said it does, to me at least, look as though current management is as poor at execution / day to day operational management as the previous one was, which is a shame as TIA is not an acceptable excuse.

Marksman, I wasn't having a dig at you (or anyone else for that matter) my point was the minutiae was not really something that provides (for me anyway) a reason to contribute. For me things relating to strategy, and its implementation, are items worthy of discussion.

Would post if there was actually something meaningful to discuss - to me the minutiae of daily operations or the pagination count of the in flight magazine don't warrant comment. Though as probably the best connected poster on the board you do a sterling job and so thanks for all the hard work as without you no one would really know much of what is going on as the BoD are not exactly effusive!

hillwi, thanks for the insight re Mozambique operations - good to hear that they appear to be performing well.

hammy, q4 will be all red ink I'm afraid - especially in Tanzania after the very poor transition to the E190s - Zimbabwe may be trading at levels towards break even, Mozambique will not. Overall still very much in the red and personally I don't see any prospects of that changing any time soon. To me - a supporter but no longer holder - this is still uninvestible until there is a change in fortunes as demonstrated by the P&L.

ATCL needs all the help it can get!! Execution re Mozambique was obviously an oddity / outlier or is it because that was down to Solenta's management rather than FJETs (who appear as bad as the ones they replaced)?

The map is still there you just need to look a little harder to find it. Personally I don't think the new website (apart from odd route issues) is that bad (especially if viewed on a mobile device and compared to doing the same with the previous one) could it be improved yes, the main issue is that it is different to both what you had got used to from fastjet and from other LCCs.
