Our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with QuotedData's Edward Marten has just been released. Listen here.
I see the mathematically illiterate are out in force elsewhere - surprised they haven't made it here yet - by claiming that the deal announced today is only worth £25k (when in fact it guarantees £50k [if really pessimistic] or £200k if you count everything mentioned - with an unlimited upside beyond £200k).
Yes £200k isn't a huge amount - though for Graphene related sales actually it is (and this applies as much to HAYD, DCTA or anyone else as much as it does to VRS) - it does demonstrate that things are moving forward.
Overall the last week has generated ca £700k of income with unlimited licensing revenue - not a bad story and shows that VRS are making progress regardless of what some may have you believe. Now if only they could come up with some news flow in relation to Concrete (and especaily Admixes)
You would imagine that one track of any VRS defence against these claims would be why did it take nearly 12 months for the claims to be made, as surely the former employee was disgruntled / hurt / injured when they were originally let go?
Another would be that whilst contractually entitled to the 12 months pay received given the state of the companies finances and the actions taken by other Directors (in relation to cutting their earnings), with the claimant also being a major shareholder of the company, they should've had the companies best interests at heart, rather than continuing to line their pockets. Part of the argument here would be the claimant has culpability in the position the company now finds itself from decisions taken / actions made whilst they were the most senior Director.
Squadaazzura, you fail in your desire to appear clever as if you actually understood what a Ponzi Scheme is you would understand, that whatever VRS is, it isn't one of those (see explanation here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme) so you instantly lose ALL credibility.
As for what VRS is.....well IMO it is - like all other Graphene companies - an early stage entity transitioning from (or at least trying to) R&D to a commercial enterprise, something that takes both time, and money, to realise and even then there is no guarantee that the transition will occur (like AGM). This kind of company is what the capital markets, and AIM in particular, are for. They should also NOT be judged in terms of traditional metrics like FTSE100 / 250 type companies are, or at least not until commercialisation is well established [in which case they will probably no longer be on AIM but be listed elsewhere)..
Multibaggerjim, whilst you may be right this hasn't happened yet and so making such statements are actually unhelpful / misleading
Cyberton, ALL Graphene companies are currently loss making whilst awaiting commercial traction - VRS isn't alone in this regard.
Searsy, you must be mistaken as all the BB know nothings (aka those of superior knowledge and intellect) told us that this placing had been forward sold weeks ago 🤔
Thomas, you are one of the "gang" so you are one of the dangerous ones, not me. If you look at my posting history whilst I support the company I also acknowledge (and say so) that they have done things wrong, I also never encourage anyone to buy (or sell) but rather to do their own research, and then own their investing decisions rather than trying to blame someone else.
Yes, I am still a believer in VRS - which may ultimately turn out to be completely misguided - but that's my choice, and mine alone (which I accept - good or bad outcome). Am I currently well down on my investment - something you and your ilk don't understand as a concept - yes I am, have I lost everything; no.
I come on these boards - and others - to have reasoned debates about investments and accept that we will all not agree, and indeed may have very divergent views, but that is good, and healthy, as long as those views can be well argued and backed by facts / evidence - again a concept that you and your ilk fail to grasp in the desire to seem clever.
I get you don't like VRS so why are you wasting your time here rather than putting your obviously superior intellect and knowledge to good use on actual investments that you hold / believe in?
Tillidjohan, I don't post much - pot and kettle comes to mind!
You have to marvel (well that's me being polite!) at the wisdom and knowledge of folks you find on BBs - at present you can see lots of chatter about MMs Forward Selling the next placing, yet they all [conveniently] don't mention how this could possibly be going on when daily volumes are so small, thus ruining any credibility they think they have (remember current authorities are another 65m shares).
As always, Do Your Own Research and [more importantly] make your own decisions rather than "listening" to the wisdom of BBs (and that includes me).
Why would he - it would be financially [very] stupid to sell if you have any belief in the company as currently his holdings are worth relatively little (even if as some like to point out his initial investment may have been small).
JamesSimon, I understand you are bitter about losses that you've incurred from your own investment decisions but you need to get your language correct as coerced probably isn't correct - definition of coerced: persuade (an unwilling person) to do something by using force or threats. Neill may have been bullish (hint it's a CEOs job to talk up the company) but that's all.
Darkryder, that;s easy - it's a recovery play (albeit a high risk one). There are also others (of which I am one) who still believe in the company and have been invested for a while.
VRS have been / are involved in the Battery space - I can think of 3 different avenues:
- Gnanomat have some products in this space; have done some research (Zinc air I think it was); have been / are working with Skeleton (possible via Graphene Flagship)
- the dockside transport pod with Westfield
- the battery production research / activity with / at WMG
So don't write off VRS in the battery space just yet.
Also things are perhaps not quite as "dead" in Korea as it may appear as Cementene has just been successfully trade Marked over there (to follow on from the similar announcement from the USA)
Cromer, I don't dismiss critical analysis - if only there were some!
VRS have done plenty wrong, but also quite a lot right, trouble is plenty of people (myself included) got a bit ahead of ourselves hence the hype spikes previously. That said, macro environments over the last few years haven't helped either. It is also worth pointing out - as I've said many times previously - that ALL Graphene related companies are pretty much in the same boat and are displaying the same performance, and issues, though this is not acknowledged by many.
My point about the non investing negative numpties holds true however, as all they seem to do is like the sound of their own voice and try and show how clever they are(n't) and offer nothing.
Saw a tweet earlier that celebrated Cementene gaining a US Trade Mark - it joins a number of others that already exist:
- Versarien
- Graphinks
- Nanene
- Hexotene
- Polygrene
-Graphene-Wear
Cromer, it is true to say that for ALL companies, not just VRS, that you have a fundraising issue if your Share Price is at, or below, Par Value as you can't issue shares at less than their Par Value, however, this can be easily fixed by first consolidating the shares, whilst leaving the Par value the same, as doing so would boost the SP.
So this is just more muck raking for the sake of it from TW and his acolytes as it was established that he had a personal issue with NR, and why he keeps so desperately trying to be "clever".
On a personal note I find it sad that instead of supporting companies (which is what investors do) there is now an entire class of people who only ever seek the negative about anything, and everything and are NOT investors but rather gamblers who trade in misery (especially of others) as they never invest in anything (except themselves).
Piltick, you obviously mis-read the RNS as it was clearly mentioned - the bit about admixtures - where an earlier expectation was that this may come through in October (not by but in) in addition there were also various mentions of Concrete specifically and 3d printed items for various customers.
Whilst this isn't a great RNS by any means - far from it - it's also not as negative as the bashers would have you believe.
Dandanman, DCTA are a lot like VRS in that they don't make any money and sell very little Graphene - the majority of their turnover comes from their Environmental (ie legacy) business.
Basically ALL graphene focused entities are still stuck in the research / early adoption phase and are burning cash whilst waiting for a transformative deal to land.
This is good news - even if the VRS share of the £800k grant pie will be small - as when combined with the "cold roll" trials they are also involved in could turn into quite a future business opportunity. It also shows the value in being involved in collaborations such as the one with National Highways.
Before anyone says it - yes it is another research project and probably relatively low in value - but shows things are still moving forward and that there is an underlying belief in VRS being around for a little while longer yet.....
