Inso far as Platinium, they were shunned 3 times, the last being when an offer of 107p was on the table. I think had RF not been so in bed with Brains at the time, an improved offer could have been achieved. The Brains Deal was being conducted with such haste it left a nasty smell especially when not many months after management deal was completed, Brains placed their Freehold estate on the market. Marstons only had a Leasing agreement, repairing at that. What a crazy deal!
A suitor would be welcome IMO, but very unlikely to come anywhere near the previous offer. The sector is not in a good place especially a company heavily indebted.

He (RF) has left a lot of problems. The Platinium approach was kept under wraps until the 3rd Offer, which the Board rejected without any consultation with ordinary Shareholders. It may be conjecture, but I am confident the Brain's deal was taking centre stage at the time, between a couple of mates, who immediately the deal was completed, one (Brain's Chairman) resigned followed quite swiftly by RF.. It was clear the Brain's estate had not been fully surveyed when the deal was struck. The eventual completion delated 40 pubs which were considered sub-standard ( of poor structural condition). It has never been made clear if there was a revision of the consideration from the initial agreement. It will be interesting to see how the Brain's estate has performed when accounts are released shortly.

Also of interest RF is to become Chair of C&C in July. Well I guess he has claims to knowing the Beverage Industry!!!

Unless HMRC have a reciprocal agreement with Canada, any Windfall Tax will be unlikely to happn here. The consequences of any attempt by HMRC to recover a windfall Tax would have ramifications that would be very strongly challenged by Oilers operating in distant territories.

Thank God I3e is operating in Canada where we will NOT be exposed to any imposed Tax in the UK.

Adamsk, in essence you are right, however a few years ago I sold a stock on Ex Div date, at settlement ( in those days settlement was not quick often as long as 14 days) the broker reclaimed the dividend from me. I remonstrated for some weeks and got nowhere. After that event I never sell until at least a week after dividend pay date.
It may well be different now, but I'll not take any risks.

spike cannot agree. In my experience markets move in proportion to a known change in dividends. The other factors stated were to a degree already factored into the SP.

However not wishing to labour the points further, will have to agree to disagree.

Olderand wiser, that is a fair point. The original notification regarding monthly payments did state 10 equal monthly payments. Our calcs need revision.

The statement then only mentioned the probablity Div would be increased. the inference being nothing was cast in stone and would happen later rather than sooner. How the market could factor in unknown values for an unspecified forward date, would be pure guesswork.

Never the less all PI's should be more than happy the way value is being added here. Many of us have been very patient and now seeing the rewards for that patience.

Using simple metrics will the SP climb above 32p today ( 25% above yesterday's close)? It should.

At current price represents over 6% div. Suspect it is a cautious increase with potentially more to come.
Back above 30p is close. The company is way under valued on dividend returns alone.
The market should realise, lets see!

Thanks, yes do know how external agencies operate, but must confess comparitors used are often skewed, size of company, turnover, profit, etc and more often than not comparisons with peer groups. Suspicion is a level of back-scratching takes place. Execs who perform well deserve reward on the contary those who do not should be penalised, which rarely happens. During the pandemic many Execs, Shell, included took pay cuts. Did it happen here???

In my opinion any remuneration award in company's where profits are absence and or SP stagnates, should be Deferred until benchmarks are met..

Today's RNS is just a repeat of the Placing Notice issued on the 5th the same date as attached to todays RNS. This may be making some holders flap, just remember the SP dropped on the Placing Notice and soon recovered. The fall today is more to do with General Market conditions.
Why the 2 notices were not issued together (5th) is poor.

Yep, the mill-stone around Marston's neck is Debt, add the decline in service/hospitality sales as emphasised by M&B, short term prospect are not looking good.
