sarah you need to decide what are you expecting from an investment in shares.
Do you want Income?
Do you want Capital growth?
Or a combination of both?
You will not get income with JOG for some time.
Capital Growth is certainly the way here, which means holding the shares long term.
Long term holders have to have patience and a strong stomach
Stock which give a combination of both do exist but need researching.
Do you own research, look carefully at the credentials of any company which interests you, including the back ground of it's Directors and Management.
Read Financial reports and by all means read these boards, but take much with a pinch of salt as you will find, over time, there are "investors" who have genuine knowledge of the Business and it's sector, there are also unscrupulous posters. You will spot them.
In essence do your own research, NEVER invest more than you are prepared to lose, every stock has a level of risk.
